Zeng Qinglin, Brand General Manager of Yijing Auto, recently released a teaser image of the brand‘s first flagship large six-seat SUV on social media, with the message “See you on Monday,” indicating an official unveiling on April 20. As the debut model from the deep collaboration between Dongfeng Motor Group and Huawei Qiankun, this flagship full-size SUV (codenamed DH1) embodies a dual-core strategy combining state-owned manufacturing heritage with cutting-edge technology. The vehicle will also make its public debut at the Beijing Auto Show on April 24.

Dual-Core Strategy: 57 Years of Dongfeng Expertise + Huawei’s Full-Stack Solutions

Yijing Auto was officially established on November 20, 2025, as a strategic result of deep, full-process collaboration between Dongfeng Motor Group and Huawei Qiankun. Over the past three years, the two parties have invested billions in R&D, forming joint teams to tackle core challenges. Dongfeng contributes 57 years of experience in chassis control, vehicle safety, supply chain management, and manufacturing. Huawei Qiankun provides full access to its product development and operations capabilities, including the latest Qiankun ADAS, HarmonyOS cockpit, and full-stack smart solutions. Huawei also participates deeply in product definition, interior design, and quality control.

The first prototype rolled off the line in December 2025, and the flagship model completed extreme cold-weather testing in January 2026.

Leadership: Wang Junjun on Technology, Zeng Qinglin on Brand Operations

Wang Junjun serves as Chairman, overseeing the integration between Dongfeng and Huawei, while Zeng Qinglin is Brand General Manager, leading brand strategy and product rollout. Wang, a Tsinghua graduate in power engineering, previously served as CTO of Voyah. Zeng brings decades of experience across R&D, production, and sales, having previously been Deputy General Manager of Voyah Sales. Wang has stated that the goal is to “integrate Huawei’s smart cockpit and autonomous driving technology while ensuring the vehicle is enjoyable, safe, and comfortable.”

Teaser Details: Split Headlights, Black Styling, Dual Refueling Ports

The teaser image reveals a split headlight layout, a full-width daytime running light strip, and a blacked-out design theme. Concealed door handles and a strong waistline define the side profile. Charging and fuel ports are located on opposite sides of the vehicle, indicating both EV and EREV powertrains. A full-width LED taillight is expected at the rear. Inside, a full-width dashboard screen spans the driver and front passenger areas, while a roof-mounted LiDAR unit and smart driving blue light are clearly visible.

Dimensions and Layout: Full-Size Flagship with 2+2+2 Seating

The vehicle exceeds 5.2 metres in length with a wheelbase approaching 3.2 metres, placing it in the full-size SUV category. The 2+2+2 independent six-seat layout provides generous space for family travel, positioning it as a direct competitor to the Li Auto L9 and Aito M9.

Smart Features: Huawei‘s Full Kit with 896-Line LiDAR

The SUV comes standard with Huawei’s new-generation 896-line dual-path image-grade LiDAR, a high-density perception configuration among production SUVs. It also features the HarmonyOS Cockpit 4.0, XMC digital chassis engine, and Qiankun vehicle control systems.

Powertrain and Range: EV and EREV Options with 4-Second Acceleration

Both pure electric and extended-range powertrains are offered. The EV version delivers up to 850 km of range, while the EREV version exceeds 1,200 km of combined range. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is in the 4-second range. Air suspension is expected.

Brand Roadmap: One New Model Per Year, 300 Service Points by Year-End

Yijing plans to launch one new model annually. The first model is scheduled for market launch in 2026. A “1+N” retail model combining user centres and mall experience stores will see 300 customer service touchpoints established by the end of the year.

Conclusion: State-Owned Heritage Meets Huawei Technology

Yijing‘s first flagship large six-seat SUV marks the debut collaboration between Dongfeng Motor Group and Huawei Qiankun in the premium new energy segment. With full-size dimensions, comprehensive smart features, dual powertrains, and flagship-level range, the vehicle is positioned to compete directly with established six-seat flagships. For Hong Kong families seeking space, intelligence, range, and powertrain flexibility, this model is certainly worth watching. More details will follow after its unveiling on April 20 and its Beijing Auto Show debut on April 24.
