In the just concluded 2026 China Ring-Tar International Rally, the 212 off-road vehicle team competed with mass-produced vehicles in near-factory condition. In the 7500km extreme journey, the team completed the cross-level challenge of displacing '2.0T against 3.0T' large displacement vehicles, continuously achieving 'two champions and one runner-up' results in the SS10-SS13 stages. Finally, 212 became the only brand with 100% completion rate among manufacturer teams in the T2.1 production group, and won the runner-up position for manufacturer teams in this group.
The participating T01 model vehicles this time had no heavy competition modifications. The factory standard 2.0T engine and ZF 8AT transmission, after testing the entire race, the low-end torque burst was excellent. In Gobi climbing and full-load towing scenarios, performance did not lose to large displacement vehicles. The vehicle was equipped with a BorgWarner large transfer case, high and low speed switching response was sensitive. After turning on 4L mode, torque can be amplified 2.64 times, ensuring stable power output for long-distance travel and less prone to failure. Regarding body structure, T01 uses a body-on-frame structure with front and rear solid axles, supplemented by a specialized tuned reinforced chassis. Facing off-road bumpy roads and pothole sections, the body remained stable and did not deform. The whole vehicle uses galvanized body panels, effectively resisting Gobi gravel scratches and wind-sand corrosion. Safety level also performed excellently. T01 increased the passenger cabin top load-bearing capacity by 16%, paired with cage body structure, 540° panoramic imaging, driving recorder, and emergency call rescue functions, protecting the safety of passengers comprehensively.
To allow more users to personally feel the charm of the Ring-Tar event, 212 announced that the Ring-Tar modification kit is about to launch on the official mall. The kit covers chassis armor, anti-tire drop rims, off-road tires, and recovery equipment. Car owners do not need to modify the body significantly, can quickly upgrade off-road hardware, and easily realize the off-road dream.
