The auto market is noisy! A frequency of three new cars daily makes most products "pass like a shooting star". However, since Huajing S launched four months ago, delivery volume has continued to climb. 7,306 units were delivered in August, and cumulative deliveries have exceeded 20,000 units.

Without a first-mover advantage or massive hype, Huajing S became the brightest in the "Three Realms" system. Why?

A brand known for "extreme cost-performance" suddenly broke into the 200,000 yuan smart large six-seat market. Why?

A car company known for its low-profile behavior and marketing strategies for years achieved sales of 1.65 million units last year quietly. Why?

With various questions and confusion, on September 22, members of "Automotive Intelligence" and the Auto Image Self-Media Federation visited the Liuzhou Wuling factory for tours and research and discussion, hoping to reveal the mysteries in their hearts.

Three Major Product Systems Fully Transitioned

To understand Wuling, one must first clarify its product system. Today, SAIC-GM-Wuling has built three major product systems: commercial vehicles, passenger vehicles, and high-end smart cars, each undertaking clear strategic missions.

The commercial vehicle sector, simply put, refers to Wuling with the red logo, currently covering four product lines: Zhiguang, Hongguang, Yangguang, and Rongguang. With the advent of the new energy era, Wuling commercial vehicles have increased their efforts in new energy renewal, while continuously expanding body sizes according to market changes to better meet usage needs. In 2025, Wuling commercial vehicle sales reached 578,000 units, exceeding one-third of the national market share, accounting for 39.3%, firmly holding the champion seat; among them, new energy vehicle sales reached 148,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 110%.

It is worth mentioning that the Wuling Yangguang series, as the core product of commercial vehicles with a red logo, launched differentiated models for different users: the 2026 model Yangguang targets individual urban and rural households, Yangguang Pro targets professional urban distribution companies, and Yangguang L serves drivers of city freight platforms. One product line, three groups of people, essentially a deep response to the fragmented needs of commercial vehicles.

The passenger vehicle segment, that is, Wuling with the "silver logo", mainly has three major families: Hongguang MINI EV, Bingo, and Starlight, undertaking the dual task of "rooting down and breaking up". To date, the "rooting down" Hongguang MINI EV family has accumulated sales of over 1.95 million units, the highest selling single model in the Chinese brand pure electric market, without exception; the Bingo family has accumulated sales of over 750,000 units, firmly ranking in the top three in the A0 segment. The results of "breaking up" are also worth noting: Starlight 730 won the MPV sales champion within 150,000 yuan for nine consecutive months, and Starlight L sold over 10,000 units in its first month of launch. In today's highly competitive environment, it is still a phenomenon-level existence.

In terms of high-end intelligent manufacturing, Huajing is the game changer and also a "strategic-level" weapon for Wuling brand to move up and value up. As a product of deep cooperation with Huawei, the first model Huajing S comes standard with Huawei Qiankun Smart Driving, HarmonyOS Cockpit, and Qiankun Vehicle Cloud. As a large six-seat SUV at the same level as AITO M9, its civilian price of 159,800 to 203,800 yuan won market favor with the posture of "technology equality". Four months after launch, cumulative deliveries have reached 20,000 units.

If your impression of Wuling is still stuck at "tens of thousands yuan commuter cars", the product portfolio and price coverage range shown by these three major matrices may have already exceeded imagination. A complete brand system covering from commercial to passenger use, and from 50,000 yuan to over 200,000 yuan price ranges, has quietly formed, and a brand new Wuling is coming towards us.

Two Major Markets Domestic and International Working Together

Many people, when examining Wuling, often attribute the success of Huajing S to "hugging Huawei's leg", which simplifies the problem too much.

Opening the timeline of cooperation between Wuling and Huawei, this is an "eight-year long race": In 2018, both sides began cooperation in the industrial IoT 5G field; In 2019, a smart connected demonstration zone was jointly built; In 2023, technical integration I²MS was promoted; In September 2025, the "Three Intelligences" deepening cooperation agreement was formally signed; In April 2026, both sides signed a comprehensive deepening strategic cooperation agreement; On May 8, Huajing S officially launched.

This layered progression from underlying technology to product definition to ecosystem operation constitutes a unique path of cooperation between Wuling and Huawei.

The success of Huajing S is not accidental, but also a display of Wuling brand's confidence and determination to move up.

But what Wuling is underestimated is not just this side. The overseas market is another growth curve that has long been ignored.

During the research, "Automotive Intelligence" learned that currently there are four routes for Wuling to go overseas. In Latin America and Middle East Africa regions, Wuling is sold with the Chevrolet Logo under GM; in Indonesia, SAIC-GM-Wuling established its own company, selling with the Wuling Logo; in the India factory, Wuling used the MG Logo under SAIC. Precisely because of this, unlike the high-profile overseas expansion of many enterprises, Wuling's export volume this year has secretly reached 250,000, a year-on-year increase of nearly 50%. Cumulative overseas sales have exceeded 1.6 million units. Globally, SAIC-GM-Wuling's overall production and sales volume has exceeded 32 million this month, thus becoming the first member of China's "30 Million Club".

More worth paying attention to is the upgrade of Wuling's overseas expansion mode. At the 2026 China-ASEAN Expo, Wuling released the "Global5 Global Strategy", using trade, distribution, production and sales, full industry chain, and technology licensing five gradient cooperation modes to adapt to the development stages of different countries and markets.

[Conclusion] When an enterprise can simultaneously achieve "cars at 50,000 yuan with ultimate cost-performance" and "cars at 200,000 yuan with Huawei Qiankun Smart Driving as standard", when its products can shuttle through logistics scenarios in vast townships and also gallop in first-tier cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen... we might should re-examine our stereotypes about this enterprise. Undoubtedly, that silent Wuling is using a systematic strategic transition to complete the identity reshaping from "National Hero Car" to "Global Smart Mobility Brand".
