Rumors of Personnel Changes Resurface, Avatr Denies Leadership Change

 Recently, Avatr officially responded to rumors of a leadership change: "Wang Hui remains Chairman of Avatr Technology and Executive Vice President of Changan Automobile, overseeing part of its overseas business."

Previously, reports suggested that Wang Hui, Chairman of Avatr Technology, would be reassigned to exclusively manage overseas operations for the Changan Automobile Group, focusing on Southeast Asian and Central and South American markets, leading to claims of Wang Hui's departure and a leadership change at Avatr.

Public resume indicates Wang Hui joined Changan in 2003, with extensive overseas operational experience. He once led the construction of Changan's Thailand factory and served as head of the Overseas Business Development Department and Southeast Asia Business Division. In September 2025, Wang Hui assumed the role of Avatr Chairman, overseeing brand strategy and global operations.

The more tangible pressure on Avatr currently lies in sales volume. Delivered 8,082 units in August, a 6% month-over-month increase, rising for three consecutive months, but still short of the 10,000-unit milestone. Cumulative deliveries from January to August reached 43,327 units, a year-over-year decline of approximately 40%. The completion rate of the 220,000-unit annual target is less than 20%.

Overseas markets remain a bright spot. According to the prospectus disclosed, from January–May 2026, Avatr's overseas sales were 2,949 units, up 33.4% year-over-year. Markets have expanded to 43 countries and regions, with distribution points increasing to 95. The company plans to officially enter the European market in 2026. The scale is still small but progress continues.

Next, market focus will fall on the flagship model T09, launching in the fourth quarter. This large six-seater SUV, benchmarked against the Li Auto L9 and AITO M9, is the first model from the full cooperation between Avatr and Huawei Qiankun. For Avatr, this is both a lever to drive sales and a test to verify if its high-end positioning can hold.
