On the evening of August 26, at the Yanqi Lake International Convention and Exhibition Center in Beijing, the Chery Fengyun T7 launch press conference was held. The theme of this launch was "Steady Happiness", a seemingly plain phrase that, when placed in the current 100,000-level pure electric SUV market, appears quite significant.

In the past two years, the intensity of competition in the 100,000-level pure electric SUV market has been evident. Range numbers keep getting inflated, specification lists keep getting longer, price wars go to bone-breaking levels. However, the truth revealed by user tests and feedback is different: entry-level range shrinks significantly, safety features are cut, heat pump AC is only for high trims, smart driving remains on the optional list. Users wanting a "reliable" car often have to spend tens of thousands more.
Faced with such "tricks", the newly launched Fengyun T7 will respond one by one by "defying the script".
Price anchors are not used for "fishing"
Fengyun T7 launched three versions, with a launch guide price of 97,900-118,900 Yuan, and a priority trade-in price of 94,900-115,900 Yuan. Compared to the pre-sale price starting from 109,900 Yuan previously, the whole series actually dropped by over 10,000 Yuan.

But the price itself is not the focus. The focus is that you can almost not find the word "Base Trim" on the configuration list of this car.
The whole series of three models share a core electric powertrain system: 65.05kWh Rhinoceros Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery, CLTC range 600 km, 30% to 80% fast charging in 20 minutes. Official test range 681.6 km, which is typical "Under-claimed Range". This means users buying the 97,900 Yuan entry version and users buying the top trim run the same distance. In this niche segment where "Low trims cut range, long range costs extra" has become industry convention, this move is not common.

Matching this is the whole series standard dual-source wide temperature range heat pump AC + High-voltage PTC, stable work from -30°C to 55°C, range can be increased by 15% to 20% in -10°C environment. AGS intelligent intake grille and 14 low-drag design items press the whole vehicle drag to 0.286Cd. 178kW high-power motor is also standard across the series.
Safety does not make "high/low trims", smart configurations have no "options"
Fengyun T7 standard across the series 9 airbags, including 48L dual-chamber far-end airbag and 1778mm integrated side curtain airbag. The body was developed according to 2026 version E-NCAP five-star safety standards, nine horizontal five vertical cage structure, high-strength steel ratio 80%, hot-formed steel 18.84%. Exclusive to its class Shotgun structure and double-frame subframe + Pack anti-collision beam, appearing on 100,000-level models is indeed rare.

The battery adopts 6D Locking Armor 31-layer protection structure, IP68 waterproof ability is 96 times national standard, side anti-crush 200kN is 2 times national standard.
The press conference announced two bottom-line commitments: if the power battery is damaged due to thermal runaway for its own reasons, compensate with the same model new car; if an accident occurs due to smart driving system reasons within one year of purchasing the car in parking or smart pilot scenarios, compensate up to 5 million Yuan. This "bottom-line" although cannot replace the responsibility of safe driving, under the current industry situation where most brands clear themselves with exemption clauses, daring to write responsibility clauses into launch benefits is itself a signal.

Fengyun T7 is equipped with the same class debut 4nm process 8775 Cockpit-Driving integrated chip, 72 TOPS NPU computing power, system response as low as 80ms. 15.6-inch 2.5K HD large screen, Lingxi Cockpit 2.0 equipped with Doubao large model, supports CarPlay, HiCar, CarLink direct connection for all phone brands. High trim version equipped with Falcon 500 Driving Assistance System, 22 high-precision sensors, supports Highway NOA pilot assistance and 300+ all-scenario auto parking.
Global Car is more than a label
The most worth paying attention to label of Fengyun T7 is actually "Native Global Car". It is not a domestic model simply changed for export, but designed synchronously with global regulations from the development phase, completed global validation before returning to the domestic market.

This group of data is worth looking closely: 3-year R&D cycle, relying on Chery 1+7+N Global R&D System; invested 81 durability test vehicles, cumulative 1.45 million km real-vehicle durability validation; covering 21 countries globally, completed 212 regulation certifications; validation environment covering high temperature, extreme cold, high humidity, high salt-alkali etc. all operating conditions. Homologous model Lepas L6 has landed in South Africa, Thailand, will enter EU, Australia & New Zealand markets within the year.

At the press conference, Chery invited overseas validation engineers, chassis engineers, styling engineers to come on stage to tell the R&D story. In most brand launch events where celebrity spokespeople stand, Chery chose to let engineers to "endorse". This choice itself is transmitting a signal: this car is not made by marketing.
Chery Automotive Executive Vice President Li Xueyong said a sentence at the launch event: "R&D cannot be fast, validation cannot be fast, global user co-creation cannot be fast." This sentence placed at an event pursuing "slow", instead became the sharpest market declaration.
Redeining "Worth"
The 100,000-level pure electric SUV market never lacks fierce competitors, but few brands write "Configuration Equality" into product logic.
Fengyun T7's move is not called subversion, but it did one thing right: make global standards standard equipment, make safety redundancy the bottom line, make range equality common sense.

Chery ranked first in China Brand Passenger Car Export for consecutive 23 years, global cumulative users broke 20 million. This data placed on Fengyun T7, explains a problem: why a 100,000-level car dares to be developed according to 2026 version E-NCAP five-star standards, dares to run 1.45 million km validation in 21 countries globally before launching.

"Global Car 100,000-level price, True 200,000-value", this Slogan sounds like marketing jargon, but if you lay out the configuration list, lay out the validation mileage, lay out the safety standards, you will find what it says might be a big truth.
In this era where "Fast" becomes the industry mainstream, someone is willing to slow down, do the validation fully, give the standards compliant, this itself is a market subversion signal.
