BAW M8’s flexible seven-seat layout suits family travel

The BAW M8 has the substantial stance expected of a full-size MPV, with a long body and tall roof that give it a clear people-carrier presence. The exterior photographs show a clean, modern treatment with distinctive lighting details, while the available white, black, grey and two-tone finishes give buyers a sensible range of visual choices.

The cabin is built around passenger comfort and daily convenience. Both front seats are electrically adjustable, with heating and ventilation, while the driver also gets massage. The second row adds powered adjustment, sliding, reclining and leg-rest functions, together with heating, ventilation and massage. A 14.6-inch centre screen, 10.25-inch digital instrument display, voice control, 50W wireless charging and an 11-speaker audio system give the front cabin a well-equipped feel.

This version uses a rear-mounted permanent-magnet synchronous motor with 170kW and 310Nm, paired with a single-speed fixed-ratio transmission. The rear-wheel-drive layout and selectable Eco, Standard/Comfort and Sport modes give the driver a straightforward electric powertrain with different response settings to suit everyday driving.

The 2+2+3 seating layout gives the BAW M8 a practical family-focused cabin, with seven seats and a 3,200mm wheelbase supporting a generous overall passenger area. The second row can move laterally and fore-and-aft, while the third row offers fore-and-aft and backrest adjustment. That flexibility makes it easier to balance passenger room and luggage use for different journeys.

Safety equipment is well organised for everyday family use. ABS, brake-force distribution, brake assist, traction control and electronic stability control form the core chassis safety package, supported by front, passenger and front-side airbags, tyre-pressure monitoring and child-seat mounting points. The L2 assistance suite adds blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, lane keeping, lane centring, forward collision warning and autonomous emergency braking.

As a pure electric MPV, the BAW M8 uses an 81kWh lithium iron phosphate battery and has a quoted CLTC range of 505km. That gives the vehicle a clear long-distance operating profile on paper, while the electric powertrain also suits regular urban trips where smooth, quiet electric driving is most useful.
