On August 31, Guangzhou hosted the 32nd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Ministers of SMEs Meeting and a series of supporting events in 2026. This international gathering, hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Guangdong Provincial People's Government, centered on the theme "Innovation-Driven, Win-Win Cooperation", bringing together ministers and delegations of SMEs from 21 economies in the Asia-Pacific region. A familiar figure appeared in the fleet responsible for welcoming these guests — the Trumpchi M8.

This is not the first time the Trumpchi M8 has stood on the international stage. From the Two Sessions to the G20 Summit, from the Davos Forum to the BRICS Leaders' Meeting, this MPV has covered almost every prestigious conference you can count on. Some joked that the Trumpchi M8 is about to become a "professional conference vehicle specialist". But jokes aside, think about it: what allows a Chinese brand MPV to make so many international conferences feel confident handing over their reception tasks to it?

From "Breaker" to "Pioneer", Domestic High-End MPVs Rise Strongly

In 2017, when the first-generation Trumpchi M8 was launched, the domestic high-end MPV market was still dominated by joint-venture brands, and Chinese brands had almost no voice in this niche segment.

Nine years later, the situation has completely changed.

The Trumpchi M8's cumulative sales have exceeded 500,000 units. In the MPV market above 200,000, the Trumpchi M8 has consistently ranked in the top three in sales and is also the cumulative sales champion for Chinese brand luxury MPVs. In the MPV market where the new energy penetration rate has exceeded 51%, the Trumpchi M8 remains the core force of domestic MPVs.

Beyond sales, there are two hard indicators that better illustrate the situation.

One is quality. Trumpchi has consecutively won the J.D. Power New Vehicle Quality Championship for eight years. Eight years is not something you can sustain by luck alone.

The other is resale value. In June 2026, the Trumpchi M8 topped the list of domestic MPVs with a resale value of 58.3%. Previously, the Trumpchi M8 had already achieved consecutive first place in the three-year resale value of domestic MPVs for 5 years from 2021 to 2025. Meanwhile, GAC Trumpchi has also ranked first in resale value among domestic brands for three consecutive years.

These three dimensions — sales, quality, and resale value — form the hard backing for the Trumpchi M8's "Triple Crown". To put it plainly, it's valuable when buying, reassuring when driving, and valuable when selling. The result voted by consumers with their feet is more effective than any advertisement.

The Confidence of 30 Million Units, Not Just a Number

This July, GAC Group welcomed the production of its 30 millionth vehicle, the model coming off the line being the Trumpchi M8. GAC Group Chairman Feng Xingya handed the car keys to the Thai celebrity owner — Tony Jaa.

What does 30 million units mean? GAC has become the fifth Chinese automaker to reach this volume after SAIC, FAW, Changan, and Dongfeng. Starting from less than 10,000 units annually after restructuring in 1997 to one vehicle coming off the line every 53 seconds today, this journey took 29 years.

These accumulated 30 million units are not just capacity and scale, but a full-chain quality control system from R&D to manufacturing. Every new car must undergo extreme environment tests such as "high cold, high heat, high altitude, high humidity, high corrosion, mountainous areas, and dust" — "Five Highs, One Mountain, One Dust" — before launching, completing "Two Winters, One Summer" field road tests. This nearly "torture" style verification process is not something every company is willing to persist with, but it is precisely this hard work that allows the Trumpchi M8 to dare say "reliable quality".

GAC Trumpchi becoming a "Chinese Smart MPV Dynasty" stands behind with the system strength of the entire GAC Group's 30 million units. This is not an empty phrase — from supply chain management to intelligent manufacturing, from R&D investment to quality control standards, the foundation accumulated over 29 years cannot be replicated overnight.

Why Do International Conferences Choose It?

Returning to the question at the very beginning: Why did the Trumpchi M8 become a "China High-End Conference Specialist"?

Just check its "resume": The only designated vehicle for the 2017 Guangzhou World Global Forum, the 2018 Two Sessions official vehicle, the 2019 Summer Davos Forum designated vehicle, G20 Summit, BRICS Leaders' Meeting... When French President Macron visited China in 2023, the Trumpchi M8 also played an important role in the escort fleet. Behind this long list is the same logic: When international conferences choose reception vehicles, what matters is not who advertises the most, but who is reliable.

Being reliable starts with comfort. Representatives travel exhausted to Guangzhou, that one or two hours on the car might be their rare time to relax, and riding comfort is one of the core highlights of the Trumpchi M8. Taking the Trumpchi M8 PHEV L as an example, over 5.2 meters in length, wheelbase over 3 meters, paired with second-row zero-gravity seats, dual-valve SDC electromagnetic suspension, full-sensory smart anti-motion sickness system — to put it plainly, it's made so you don't want to get out when you sit in. And it is also a "New Energy MPV with no range anxiety", CLTC pure electric range 248 km, CLTC combined range over 1,300 km, even the farthest conference distance does not require frequent charging, comfort makes conference participants stay until the end.

Being reliable also requires safety. The safety of the third row of MPVs has always been an industry difficulty, but the Trumpchi M8 PHEV L features a 360° enveloping airbag matrix, an industry-first rear window airbag plus 3.2-meter side curtain airbags, full coverage of the first, second, and third rows, truly achieving safety equality. The battery uses the CATL Xiaoyao Extended Hybrid Battery, with cell failure rate controlled at one in a billion. GAC Trumpchi also launched a "Three Liabilities Assumed" policy — electric powertrain spontaneous combustion, battery degradation exceeding limits, intelligent parking accidents, the manufacturer takes responsibility. Having the courage to make such promises indicates they have confidence.

Being reliable means never failing at a critical moment. The fleet scheduling for international conferences is precise to the minute. If the car breaks down halfway, it affects not only the conference schedule but also betrays this heavy trust. Trumpchi winning the J.D. Power New Vehicle Quality Championship for eight consecutive years is not for nothing — in such occasions, reliability is more important than any fancy configuration.

The Making of a Label

The label "China High-End Conference Specialist" was fought out by the Trumpchi M8 over nine years, battle after battle. Every time being selected is trust, every time completing the task successfully is proof — the market defines the weight of this title through tests one after another.

Over nine years, from a market breaker in the MPV sector to the current "China Luxury MPV Pioneer", the Trumpchi M8 solidified this market status step by step with the real choices of over 500,000 users and the report card of being number one in resale value for domestic MPVs for five consecutive years.

The APEC Ministers of SMEs Meeting and supporting events are currently being held in Guangzhou. When the vehicles of delegations from various countries drive past Zhujiang New Town, the guests sitting in the Trumpchi M8 may not think much about the story behind this car. But it is precisely those invisible accumulations — GAC's 29 years of car manufacturing experience, 30 million units of system accumulation, and the Trumpchi M8's nine years of market polishing — that make all of this look effortless.

The title "China High-End Conference Specialist", the Trumpchi M8 is worthy of bearing it.
