[CNMO Tech News] On June 4, Tianyancha App business information showed that global mobility technology company ECARX (NASDAQ stock code: ECX) established a wholly-owned ecological investment company in Hubei. This enterprise, named ECARX (Hubei) Ecological Investment Co., Ltd., has a legal representative Shen Ziyu, Chairman and CEO of ECARX Technology, with a registered capital of up to 600 million RMB. The business scope covers investment activities with own funds, asset management services for own fund investments, information consulting services, etc.
CNMO Tech learned that ECARX Technology was co-founded by Geely Holding Group founder Li Shufu and Shen Ziyu in 2017, and successfully listed on the NASDAQ in 2022, making it one of the earliest enterprises to achieve a global layout in the field of Chinese automotive intelligence. The company focuses on R&D of chip modules, smart cockpits and auxiliary driving computing platforms, central computing platforms, in-vehicle AI large models, and LiDAR and other full-stack solutions. So far, the company has 13 global operation centers in China, the UK, the US, Brazil, Singapore, Malaysia, Sweden, Germany, and Vietnam, etc., and technical products have been mounted on about 11 million vehicles globally.
It is reported that ECARX settled in Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone in 2017 and is a 'Moose' enterprise in Hubei Province. Establishing a 600 million level ecological investment company in Hubei this time is a key measure to deepen capital ties and strengthen industrial synergy on the basis of previous technical rooting. This investment platform is expected to lead with capital, form close interest binding with key links such as upstream and downstream chips, sensors, application software, etc., promote the accelerated aggregation of the automotive intelligence industry chain in Hubei, and achieve a strategic leap from 'Technology Product Company' to 'Industrial Ecosystem Organizer'.
In terms of financial performance, ECARX has achieved overall profitability for three consecutive quarters. In the first quarter of 2026, the company achieved revenue of $131.5 million, with a gross margin of 21.4%, an increase of 1.4 percentage points year-on-year; adjusted EBITDA profit was $4 million, and net loss narrowed significantly year-on-year to $11 million. In May this year, ECARX announced a strategic cooperation with US autonomous driving company May Mobility, to provide customized AI central computing platform and complete sensor kits for its Robotaxi fleet. The total value of the project cycle is about $750 million, marking that the company's business capabilities have extended from intelligent computing platforms to Robotaxi autonomous driving solutions, opening up a new long-term growth space.
