A few days ago at the Chery booth at the Chengdu Auto Show, circling the Fengyun T7 were not only domestic media but also several foreign influencers. After reviewing parameters and feeling the interior, they directly pulled out their phones to place orders on the spot. 5,000 Surveys Set the Tone: Global Targeting from Project Conception

At the press conference, Chery Executive Vice President Li Xueyong said that the Fengyun T7 was not built in China and then modified for export, but targeted globally from the start of R&D. Global regulations were researched two years in advance, directly benchmarking against the 2026 E-NCAP 5-star standard. During the R&D phase, over 5,000 global user surveys were conducted, incorporating scene requirements from 15 typical countries right from the blueprint stage.

The same model from the same lineage is called Lepas L6 overseas. South Africa and Thailand have already launched it first, followed by entry into the EU, Australia and New Zealand, UK, and other regions. A pure electric SUV from a Chinese brand, its overseas launch schedule is earlier than the domestic one.

81 Test Vehicles Circulate Globally: 1.45 Million Kilometers of Extreme Verification

81 exclusive durability vehicles conducted global road tests simultaneously, with a cumulative vehicle test mileage exceeding 6 million kilometers, and 1.45 million kilometers in dedicated durability testing. From -40℃ Siberia, 55℃ Middle East deserts, Southeast Asian high-humidity rainy seasons, to Nordic polar nights, the 7 major categories of extreme environments were conquered one by one.

To accommodate driving habits in different countries, the engineering team implemented over 80 local adaptations. Thai right-hand drive users prefer a heavier steering feel, so the steering force calibration was adjusted up one level. Turkish users prefer hard switches, so high-frequency functions retain physical buttons. Europeans are used to reversing into garages with the front, so the front camera pops out automatically at 70 cm. In an environment where rushed car manufacturing is the norm nowadays, this kind of meticulous effort instead appears more valuable.
