Zhidian Auto (Intelligent Transforms Union, ITU) is a Chinese pure electric commercial vehicle brand affiliated with Hunan Zhidian Intelligent New Energy Automotive Co., Ltd. The company was founded on July 17, 2018, and its headquarters is located in the High-tech Zone of Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province. Zhidian Auto is the first domestic enterprise to prioritize smart new energy commercial vehicles as its main development goal.
The company operates seven major workshops: stamping, welding, painting, assembly, cargo boxes, chassis, and battery PACK. The total investment is approximately 5 billion RMB, and the factory building area covers about 200,000 square meters. As of the end of 2025, the company has around 49 employees.
The brand’s slogan is “Smart Connection, Intelligence, Wisdom, and Manufacturing,” with core values of “Collaboration, Innovation, Integration, and Leadership.” It is committed to solving pain points for drivers and providing efficient and convenient capacity solutions for new logistics and new travel in smart cities. Strategically, Zhidian Auto has set a “three-step” goal: to become a proponent of smart electric commercial vehicles by 2021, a leader in smart commercial vehicles by 2025, and a guide in smart commercial vehicles by 2035.
Zhidian Auto’s origins date back to early 2018, when founder Shen Haiyin (also the founder of Singulato Motors) registered a company in Zhuzhou, Hunan, with early planning led by the Singulato Motors founding team. In 2020, original CEO Shen Haiyin stepped down, and Ma Jianfeng assumed the roles of legal representative and CEO.
In March 2021, Zhidian Auto completed a 1 billion RMB Series A financing round led by Henglu Capital, with participation from Zhuzhou State-owned Investment Group and Power Valley Industrial Investment. Concurrently, intention credit agreements totaling 5 billion RMB were signed with ICBC, Agricultural Bank of China, Bank of China, Huarong Xiangjiang Bank, and China Guangfa Bank. By June of that year, Zhidian Auto’s box truck products had rolled off the production line. In September 2022, following the official implementation of new regulations for blue-plate light trucks, the Zhidian X301 pure electric light trucks emerged as benchmark products due to their advantages of being “lighter, cheaper, and more efficient.”
In 2023 and 2024, Zhidian Auto was included in the Chinese Unicorn Enterprise List for two consecutive years, with an estimated valuation of approximately 8.1 billion RMB. In 2024, the brand signed a European sales agreement with a German dealer, securing total orders of 22,500 units. That same year, groundbreaking ceremonies were held for its second production base in Leshan, Sichuan, and for the group headquarters project, with the first phase targeting an annual production capacity of 75,000 units.
In 2025, Zhidian Auto signed a strategic agreement with Central Asian partners to deliver 29,000 new energy commercial vehicles over three years and was once again listed among the “2025 Unicorn Enterprises.” By 2026, the company continued to advance its global delivery initiatives and capacity expansion.
Zhidian Auto has planned the R&D of 11 car models across four platforms, focusing on pure electric commercial vehicles. The product line covers niche fields such as micro-vans, micro-trucks, pickups, and light trucks.
Zhidian X301: The brand’s first pure electric light truck, positioned for urban logistics and express delivery markets. It offers two configurations: the X301 Smart Edition (aimed at future autonomous driving applications) and the X301 Advance Edition (tailored for blue-plate regulations). With a range of up to 360 kilometers, it is equipped with a 15.6-inch central control screen, a fully LCD instrument cluster, and a smart vehicle system.
Zhidian F101 Micro-Van: The brand’s main box cargo vehicle model, available in a blind-window cargo version, with capacities ranging from 3 cubic meters to 20 cubic meters.
Zhidian F101 Micro-Truck: A pure electric micro-truck based on the F101 platform, designed to meet urban distribution end-scene scenarios with small-tonnage load capacity.
Zhidian K201 Pickup: The brand’s only mid-to-large pure electric pickup model, currently listed as “pending sale.”
In terms of platform planning, the brand implements products around three core platforms: the IT500 series, represented by the 0.5-ton cargo van (corresponding to the F101 micro-van/micro-truck); the Smart Electric Pickup IT1000 series (corresponding to the K201); and the Light Truck IT1500 series (corresponding to the X301).
In the field of Chinese pure electric commercial vehicles, Zhidian Auto has attracted market attention as a new brand driven by substantial export signing volumes. As of the end of 2024, the Zhidian X301 pure electric light trucks had secured 7,000 units in the first batch of orders from Shenzhen Dongfang Station and Henan Botai Industrial Park. Additionally, Zhidian Auto signed a 22,500-unit export agreement for pure electric light trucks with a German dealer and entered into a strategic agreement with Central Asian partners to deliver 29,000 new energy commercial vehicles in batches over three years, including 27,000 F101 micro-vans and 2,000 X301 light trucks. These agreements primarily reflect framework intention purchase commitments. As of 2026, most of these export orders are still progressing through the batch delivery cycle, with no public disclosure regarding the specific timeline for completing full delivery.
Regarding domestic official retail data, the brand’s actual mass production delivery and terminal registration volumes remain at a low level. Vertical platforms such as Pacific Auto Network have labeled all four of the brand’s models as “pending sale.” Mainstream car sales data query platforms also indicate that “no Zhidian Auto sales data is available at the moment.” The brand is currently in the early stage of “unlaunched/batch delivery.”
Zhidian Auto’s technology system revolves around the “New Four Modernizations” strategy: smart-equipped commercial vehicles, modular design to reduce costs, efficiency-oriented application scenarios, and seamless human-vehicle-road-transport integration. As of 2026, Zhidian Auto holds 160 patents and 349 proprietary technologies, forming a commercial vehicle product matrix centered on pure electric and hydrogen energy powertrains.
Three-Electric System: The X301 light truck’s motor has a maximum power of 109 horsepower. The battery offers two options: Lithium Iron Phosphate and CATL, with a capacity of 82 kWh and a maximum range of 360 kilometers. The Three-Electric System features an independent liquid cooling system, anti-collision design for the battery compartment, a battery protection system, and cold-start safety technology. Its dustproof and waterproof rating meets the IP67 standard.
Smart Cargo Box: A smart logistics solution pioneered by Zhidian Auto, integrated with facial recognition, fingerprint unlock, constant temperature monitoring for the cargo box, and a visual system. It monitors the entire transport process via the cloud to improve operational efficiency.
Platform Design: The brand develops modular platforms that support both carrying and non-carrying vehicle production lines. Covering various models such as pure electric light trucks, pickups, and micro-vans, this approach enables rapid product iteration.
Sterilization and Health Configuration: The Zhidian X301 Smart Edition’s driver cab and cargo box are equipped with UV sterilization lamps, completing disinfection in 10 to 15 minutes to meet hygiene requirements for logistics transportation.
The overseas market is a key direction in Zhidian Auto’s strategic layout. The Leshan Second Production Base is clearly focused on overseas sales, with its first-phase plan including overseas KD (knock-down assembly) workshops. In specific markets, Zhidian Auto has signed a 22,500-unit export agreement with a German dealer; in the Central Asian market, it has agreed with local partners to deliver 29,000 new energy commercial vehicles within three years; and in the African market, it has coordinated with Ethiopian government representatives on new energy commercial vehicle export matters. According to data released by Zhidian Auto, the cumulative total of these overseas export orders has exceeded 50,000 units.
As of 2026, Zhidian Auto is at a critical transition period from signed orders to batch delivery transformation. In terms of capacity expansion, Zhuzhou factory plans a standard capacity of 50,000 units. After the first phase of Leshan Second Production Base is built, annual capacity will increase to 75,000 units. In terms of product R&D, the company plans to continue promoting the development of fuel cell systems, autonomous driving technology, and new generation whole vehicle platforms. In terms of brand development, Zhidian Auto needs to cross three major tests: engineering verification capacity, quality control reputation, and continuous cash flow, truly converting overseas orders into the reality of batch delivery to end users on the road.
