Development History

The Stuttgart Proximity and Foundation (1987–2000)

TechArt was established in 1987 in Leonberg, deliberately located just a few kilometres away from Porsche’s global headquarters in Zuffenhausen. The founders recognized that affluent Porsche owners craved total aesthetic and mechanical uniqueness that the mass-production assembly lines could not provide.

Throughout the 1990s, TechArt systematically mastered Porsche's engineering architecture. When Porsche made the historic, highly controversial leap from air-cooled engines to water-cooled engines with the 996 generation, TechArt was the first manufacturer to release comprehensive aerodynamic and engine power upgrade packages, solidifying its place at the pinnacle of the Porsche refinement hierarchy.

The Magnum Empire and Racing Glory (2001–2010)

In 2001, Porsche introduced its very first SUV, the Cayenne, which was widely criticized by sports car purists. TechArt executed a brilliant corporate manoeuver by launching the TechArt Magnum. This aggressively styled, widebody, high-horsepower super-SUV became a massive global commercial sensation, turning into a mandatory symbol of high-status luxury in Hollywood, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East, financing the brand's hardcore supercar research.

Concurrently, TechArt dominated the professional tuning motorsport circuits. In 2008, the factory-backed TechArt GTstreet XL (based on the 911 Turbo) captured the outright title at the prestigious Sport Auto Tuner Grand Prix at the Hockenheimring, comfortably beating Europe's finest racing teams.

The Modern Hyper-Customization Era (2011–Present)

Under modern corporate steering, TechArt has successfully transformed itself into a comprehensive engineering house capable of working on advanced electrified drivetrains.
