Shaanxi Automobile Light Truck is a brand launched by the high-end medium and light truck project under Shandong Heavy Industry Group. The actual operating entity is Shandong Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (later renamed to Weichai New Energy Commercial Vehicle Co., Ltd.), which is the brand name previously used on production models. The company was established in 2005, headquartered in Laiyang, Yantai, Shandong, and was officially renamed to Weichai New Energy Commercial Vehicle Co., Ltd. in 2025, while still retaining its original business scope. The company leverages the resource advantages of Weichai Power and Shaanxi Automobile, with a total investment of 2 billion RMB in a commercial vehicle upgrade project. The factory covers an area of 1,166 mu, with a building area of 270,000 square meters, possessing an annual production capacity of 50,000 complete vehicles, and holds full production qualifications for N1, N2, and N3 classes as well as pure electric and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.
In 2018, Shandong Heavy Industry Group invested heavily to launch the Shaanxi Automobile Light Truck high-end project, focusing on the layout of medium and light truck products. 2021 was the starting point for the brand's rapid development, with annual sales exceeding 10,000 units. 2025 was a key turning point for brand development: the operating entity completed its renaming, achieving sales of 17,000 units for the year, a year-on-year increase of 26%, with new energy vehicle sales reaching 10,500 units and export business sales reaching 2,500 units, both core businesses seeing doubled growth. In the same year, new energy light trucks ranked among the industry leaders, and fuel cell light truck sales exceeded 100 units. Entering 2026, the brand continued its momentum, setting a challenge target of 25,000 units for itself, with 20,000 units domestically and 5,000 units overseas.
Shaanxi Automobile Light Truck products focus on the two major series of "Delong" and "Zhiyun," covering both traditional energy and new energy technology routes.
Delong Series (Mainstream Traditional and New Energy): Includes basic models such as the K3000, K5000, N3000, Delong G300Pro, G300, G200, and other mid-to-high-end models. The Delong G300Pro is equipped with a Cummins D2.5N engine and a Fast Gear 2.0 8AMT transmission, covering 170–185 horsepower with industry-leading fuel consumption performance. The Delong N3000 applies a lightweight chassis design, reducing its own weight with composite leaf springs and aluminum alloy wheel rims.
Zhiyun Series (New Energy Mainstream): Includes the Zhiyun S300 pure electric light truck and the Zhiyun Tianxing Edition 2.0. These adopt a highly integrated chassis layout with CATL batteries, a Hande electric drive axle, and an Inovance integrated controller, achieving a range of over 340 kilometers. Based on nine years of operational experience and big data from 5 billion kilometers, the products integrate leading configurations such as an electric drive axle, silicon carbide control technology, and a multi-variate thermal management system.
New Energy Featured Products: Includes the Delong EV300 (300 km range, 50-minute fast charge), the high-efficiency refrigerated light truck "Xuelong" (pure electric or second-generation plug-in hybrid technology, with a single charge range exceeding 1,000 km), and pure electric small trucks.
In 2025, the brand sold 17,000 units for the year, up 26% year-on-year. New energy light truck sales reached 10,500 units for the year, ranking among the industry leaders. In the 4.5-ton blue-plate light truck sub-market, market share once ranked third in the industry. Fuel cell light truck annual sales also ranked among the industry leaders. Overall market competitiveness has steadily improved.
The technical system of Shaanxi Automobile Light Truck is fully built relying on its parent company, Weichai New Energy Commercial Vehicle, and the Shandong Heavy Industry Group to which it belongs.
Golden Powertrain Chain: Originating from the mature combination of "Weichai Engine + Fast Gear Transmission + Hande Axle" in the medium and heavy truck market, this has been further extended to the light truck field, combining power response with fuel economy.
Intelligent Power System: Covers three power technology routes, including traditional fuel, pure electric, and hybrid, equipped with Weichai's self-developed powertrain technology, where the three-electric or three major core components can adapt to different vehicle model chassis.
Lightweight Chassis Technology: Uses materials such as non-metal composite leaf springs, aluminum alloy wheel rims, and aluminum alloy air reservoirs, significantly reducing vehicle weight.
Electric Powertrain: Adopts a CATL battery, Inovance flat-wire motor, and integrated electric drive axle solution. The flat-wire motor peak power reaches 120 kW, with transmission efficiency increased by over 7%.
Intelligent Driving: Equipped with the Yuntu 1.0 assisted driving platform, integrating 16 core functions including full-speed lane keeping and 360-degree surround view, reducing the accident rate by 42%.
The brand actively integrates into the "Belt and Road" initiative, implementing a "One Country, One Vehicle" precise marketing strategy. The parent company's truck products have cumulatively exported 220,000 units, sold to over 140 countries and regions, and have achieved CKD assembly sales in more than 20 countries, including Algeria and Kazakhstan. Special working groups have been established in key markets such as Vietnam, the Philippines, and Tanzania. In 2025, export business grew 159% year-on-year, with bulk orders achieved in the Gulf region, and the internationalization layout continues to accelerate.
Looking ahead to the "15th Five-Year Plan," the brand has set clear goals: a challenge target of 25,000 units in 2026, of which 20,000 are domestic (11,000 new energy light trucks, 5,000 fuel light trucks, and 3,000 new energy small trucks) and 5,000 are exports. The business focus will center on the two growth engines of new energy and exports, relying on globally recognized leading commercial vehicle battery technology to promote three-electric upgrades. The brand will continue to deepen differentiated market-segmented models, strengthen the construction of its 50,000-unit capacity base, aim for the "top tier of new energy light trucks," and sprint toward high-quality development.
