Radten (Ruiteng Auto) is an emerging brand once highly anticipated in China's new energy vehicle sector, affiliated with Hebei Radten New Energy Vehicle Co., Ltd. The company was established in November 2017, headquartered in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province. It is a mid-to-high-end new energy vehicle brand built on the basis of many years of cooperation between the Shijiazhuang Municipal Government and Chery Automobile in the new energy sector, aimed at expanding and strengthening the automotive industry cluster. The total project investment is nearly 6 billion RMB, with a planned annual production capacity of 100,000 units, belonging to Shijiazhuang City's key construction projects. The brand name "Radten" implies auspiciousness and soaring, the English identifier is "RADTEN". Radten focuses on the R&D, production, and sales of mid-to-high-end intelligent pure electric passenger cars. In 2021, it was expected to "revitalize Shijiazhuang City's glorious history of the automotive industry". However, as of early 2026, the first model Radten RT1 of the brand has never achieved launch delivery, and the project has basically been stalled.

The origin of Radten can be traced back to 2017. In November 2017, Hebei Radten New Energy Vehicle Co., Ltd. was officially registered and established, with registered capital of 1 billion yuan, jointly established by Shijiazhuang Caimao New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., Shijiazhuang Chenglian Construction Investment Development Co., Ltd., and Shijiazhuang Zhongchuang Taifu Equity Investment Fund Center (Limited Partnership). In October 10, 2018, the first car from Chery (Shijiazhuang) New Energy Vehicle rolled off the line, and the start-up ceremony for Hebei Radten New Energy Vehicle Project was held at the Chery (Shijiazhuang) New Energy Vehicle Production Base, officially launching the Radten New Energy Vehicle Project.
Over the next few years, Radten went through an intensive construction preparation period. 2021 was the "brand first year" and "product first year" for Radten. In May 2021, Radten held a dealer recruitment conference in Shijiazhuang. Nearly 150 dealers from all over the country attended the conference, with intention signing cities reaching 105, covering first and second-tier cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chongqing, and Chengdu. In June 2021, the Radten RT1 completed the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology new vehicle declaration, and details such as all-aluminum body and triple screen interior were made public for the first time. On July 10, 2021, the Radten Automotive fully intelligent factory was officially designated in Luancheng District, Shijiazhuang City. The factory covers a total area of 1,200 mu, with the first phase covering 404 mu and a total construction area of about 120,000 square meters. The factory is built based on Industry 4.0 technical standards, equipped with international first-class equipment such as Panasonic and KUKA, and innovatively simplifies the traditional four major processes into two major processes: welding and final assembly. The Radten RT1 was originally planned to be launched in the market in the second half of 2021, but failed to achieve it on schedule. Subsequently, the project gradually fell into a stalemate, and the first model has never achieved market launch and delivery. As of 2026, there is no substantial progress in the Radten Automotive brand status, with zero models on sale.
Radten's product planning is concentrated in the pure electric passenger car field, planning to launch multiple models such as sedans, SUVs, and MPVs sequentially based on the Dolphin Smart Platform, forming a complete product layout with full coverage of high, medium, and low levels. However, to date, Radten Automotive has only one model that has never been launched — Radten RT1 (also known as Radten 01, RT01).
Radten RT1 is positioned as a Class A+ intelligent pure electric sedan with a shooting brake body. Its dimensions are 4875mm/1910mm/1510mm, with a wheelbase of 2920mm, and the width and wheelbase data are basically consistent with the BYD Han. In terms of appearance, RT1 adopts a closed front grille, the front headlights are designed in an integrated style, the rear of the car is inlaid with "RADTEN" English identifier, and hidden door handles are equipped. The interior adopts an integrated triple floating screen design that almost runs through the entire center console, and a horizontal protruding operation area is set under the center console, highlighting the sense of technology. In terms of power, RT1 is equipped with a drive motor with a maximum power of 130kW (approximately 177 hp), a top speed of 170km/h, a ternary lithium battery pack, and the estimated NEDC comprehensive cruising range can reach about 600 kilometers. In terms of intelligent configuration, the new car is expected to support functions such as ACC adaptive cruise control, and the intelligent driving level is expected to reach the Level 2+. The new car design was designed by Samuel Chuffart, Global Design Director of Italian design company Icona, pursuing a "minimalist" style. The model was originally planned to be priced between 220,000 to 250,000 RMB, mainly targeting competitors such as Xpeng P5, BYD Qin Pro New Energy, GAC Aion AION S, and other models.
Radten had good market expectations in the initial phase of brand building. During the May 2021 investment promotion conference, the Radten RT1 received unanimous praise from participating dealers during the test ride and driving link, and cooperation intentions were reached in 105 cities. However, subsequently RT1 failed to launch as scheduled, and the dealer channel could not be substantially expanded. As of 2026, Radten Automotive has no models on sale, sales data is zero, and the brand has essentially withdrawn from market competition. According to records on automotive information platforms such as Bitauto, "Radten Automotive's current development is not particularly optimistic. It mainly involves the new energy sedan field, and there is only one model under the brand that has not been launched".
Radten's core technology comes from Chery New Energy's technical endorsement. Radten RT1 is built on the LFS All-Aluminum Pure Electric Module Platform independently developed and designed by Chery. The platform adopts an all-aluminum architecture body and "N+E+T" technology combination, supports rear-wheel drive layout, can also be expanded to four-wheel drive and extended range rear-wheel drive, can realize front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive, and four-wheel drive driving forms, the wheelbase expansion range is 2700mm-2900mm, and can cover various models such as sedans, SUVs, and MPVs. Compared with traditional bodies, the all-aluminum profile frame body reduces weight by 30%, increases stiffness by 20%, material utilization rate reaches 96%, aluminum-based body recyclability is 100%, and has advantages in lightweight, handling, and environmental protection.
In addition, Radten promoted independent R&D of the Dolphin Smart Platform. The platform emphasizes "green" and "smart" technology applications and claims to be at the forefront in intelligent driving, intelligent batteries, and intelligent electric drive. Regarding the factory, Radten Automotive's intelligent factory adopts short-process technology, the number of workstations is reduced by 50% compared to traditional production lines, VOC emissions are only 17% of traditional methods, production energy consumption is reduced by 20%, and a distributed online inspection system is adopted, with inspection and testing accuracy reaching 100%.
As of 2026, public information regarding Radten Automotive's overseas layout is extremely limited. According to public information, Radten Automotive's business scope includes import and export business of goods and technology, indicating that the company has qualifications to engage in export business. But under the condition that the first model has not achieved domestic launch and delivery, there has been no substantial expansion in overseas markets. During the 2021 brand promotion period, Radten Automotive once showed an international vision, including inviting Italian designers to design models, but no specific overseas market sales or production base construction plans were seen.
Radten's current status is not optimistic. After the fully intelligent factory was designated in 2021, the brand has been in a long-term stalemate, and the first model Radten RT1 has never achieved mass production and listing. Against the backdrop of increasingly fierce competition in the new energy vehicle market, Radten Automotive faces multiple dilemmas such as low brand awareness, products failing to land, and channels failing to expand. Its parent company Hebei Radten New Energy Vehicle Co., Ltd. has a registered capital of 1 billion yuan, but the continuous operation of new energy vehicle projects requires a large amount of follow-up capital investment, and project restart is difficult. To get out of the stalemate, Radten Automotive needs to solve a series of issues such as technical breakthroughs, capital infusion, and product production certificates. In the industry landscape where the concentration of new energy vehicle brands in China continues to increase, Radten Automotive's future development prospects are full of uncertainty.
