Porsche Panamera PHEV

2026-10-06 02:50:00

The Porsche Panamera E-Hybrid is a plug-in hybrid luxury full-size saloon from German marque Porsche, sitting within the Panamera model line-up. Serving as a core pillar in Porsche's electrification transition, the E-Hybrid series redefines the full-size luxury sports saloon segment with its fine balance of high performance and efficiency. The 2026 Panamera E-Hybrid is offered in both standard wheelbase and Executive extended wheelbase body styles. Sold as a fully imported (CBU) model in the domestic market, official guide prices range from RM1,288,000 to RM1,998,000.

Design Language

The 2026 Panamera E-Hybrid carries forward the athletic design language refined in its mid-cycle refresh. The front fascia sports reshaped, diamond-contoured headlamp clusters with a flatter internal design layout. The front bumper features a more pronounced, three-section air intake design with bolder proportions. Sleek character lines define the flanks, where the signature fastback roofline neatly balances rear headroom with an assertive stance. At the rear, a full-width light bar is paired with quad exhaust tailpipes and an electrically deployable rear spoiler. In terms of dimensions, the standard wheelbase variant measures 5,052/1,937/1,423 mm (L/W/H) with a 2,950 mm wheelbase; the Executive extended wheelbase variant comes in at 5,202/1,937/1,428 mm with a 3,100 mm wheelbase. Inside, the cabin retains Porsche's iconic driver-centric cockpit layout, featuring a 12.6-inch fully digital curved instrument cluster with a central rev counter as standard, which combines with a 10.9-inch central touchscreen to form a triple-screen connected smart digital cockpit. High-grade leather wraps the interior generously, alongside an optional dedicated passenger touchscreen.

Powertrain and Performance

The 2026 Panamera E-Hybrid offers a choice of two plug-in hybrid powertrains—a 2.9T V6 and a 4.0T V8—both mated to an 8-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission and an all-wheel-drive system.

The Panamera 4 E-Hybrid is powered by a plug-in hybrid setup combining a 2.9T V6 twin-turbo petrol engine and an electric motor. The combustion engine outputs 224 kW (304 hp), while the electric motor generates 140 kW (190 hp), delivering a total system output of 346 kW (470 hp) and a peak torque of 650 Nm. The century sprint from 0 to 100 km/h is clocked in 3.8 seconds.

The Panamera 4S E-Hybrid pushes out a combined system output of 400 kW (544 hp), completing the 0-100 km/h sprint in 3.7 seconds.

The Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid features a 4.0T V8 twin-turbo engine paired with an electric motor, with the V8 engine alone producing 520 hp and the electric motor adding 190 hp. Total system output reaches 500 kW (680 hp) with a massive 930 Nm of torque, dispatching 0-100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds.

In addition, overseas markets offer the range-topping Turbo S E-Hybrid flagship, boasting an impressive total system output of 771 hp. All variants are equipped with a 25.9 kWh battery pack, delivering a WLTP-rated pure electric range of 96 km.

Chassis and Handling

The Panamera E-Hybrid comes standard with adaptive two-chamber air suspension and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) across the range. Dual-valve technology enables the adaptive dampers to regulate rebound and compression stages independently. Higher-spec E-Hybrid variants can be optionally equipped with the Porsche Active Ride active hydraulic suspension system. Steering is direct and precise, while braking on the Turbo E-Hybrid is anchored by the standard Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) system. High-spec grades also feature rear-axle steering and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) as standard. The drivetrain layout across the entire lineup is front-engine all-wheel drive.

Cockpit and Equipment

The cabin comes fitted with a 12.6-inch fully digital curved instrument cluster and a 10.9-inch central touchscreen as standard. Infotainment runs on the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system, offering Apple CarPlay smartphone integration and OTA updates. For audio, a BOSE Surround Sound System is standard, while higher grades upgrade to a Burmester 3D High-End Surround Sound System, alongside newly added Dolby Atmos support across the range. Cabin comforts include four-zone automatic climate control, ambient lighting, and acoustic glass. Standard seating includes 14-way power-adjustable front seats with heating, with higher trims adding ventilation and massage functions. The rear seats also feature individual adjustability. Boot capacity stands at 495 litres, expandable to 1,483 litres with the rear seats folded down.

Safety and Driver Assistance

The Panamera E-Hybrid is fitted with Matrix LED headlights as standard, while higher variants are upgraded to HD-Matrix LED headlights featuring lens control technology with over 64,000 pixels. Active safety is driven by the Porsche InnoDrive adaptive cruise control system, supporting Lane Keep Assist, Lane Change Assist, and Traffic Jam Assist. The vehicle also comes equipped with a 360-degree surround-view camera system and front and rear parking sensors. Braking duties are handled by high-performance composite brakes as standard, with higher variants upgraded to the PCCB ceramic composite brake system. Passive safety is well covered by multiple airbags and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

Market Performance and Overview

The Panamera continues to post solid numbers in the global market. In the first half of 2025, global Panamera deliveries reached 14,975 units, representing a year-on-year increase of 13%, with cumulative deliveries from January to September 2025 totaling 21,243 units. In Q1 2025, Porsche's plug-in hybrid models accounted for 12.6% of the brand's total global volume. In the Chinese market, the 2026 Panamera range is priced between RM1,298,000 and RM1,998,000. Leveraging its liftback silhouette and performance-driven positioning, the Panamera maintains a differentiated edge in the traditional D-segment luxury arena. Its plug-in hybrid E-Hybrid series balances daily urban commutes and long-distance touring with a 96 km pure electric range, retaining its unique sporting DNA against rivals such as the BMW 7 Series PHEV (RM1,819,000) and Mercedes-Benz S-Class PHEV (RM1,308,300). Serving as Porsche's technological showcase in the large luxury saloon segment, the Panamera E-Hybrid—with its V8 PHEV powertrain, active suspension technology, and sports-car-like dynamics—firmly cements its benchmark status as the premier "driver's car" in its class.
