The Peugeot Landtrek is a mid-size pick-up truck produced under the French marque Peugeot. First introduced in 2020, it marks a pivotal strategic move for Peugeot in the light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment. Jointly developed with China's Changan Automobile and based on the Kaicene F70, the Landtrek is a "Sino-French hybrid" pick-up. It is built on a body-on-frame chassis, offering both single-cab and double-cab body styles alongside rear-wheel drive (4x2) and four-wheel drive (4x4) configurations. The Landtrek primarily targets emerging markets across Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia, and is not sold in the domestic Chinese market. In late 2024, Peugeot unveiled the mid-cycle facelift for the Landtrek (2025 model year).

Design Language
The original 2020 Landtrek shared largely identical exterior styling with the Kaicene F70, differentiated only by brand emblems and subtle Peugeot design touches. The mid-cycle facelift unveiled at the end of 2024 introduced a completely refreshed design language. The front fascia features a revamped vertical grille with Peugeot's new shield lion crest positioned prominently in the centre. Flanking the grille are signature lion-claw LED daytime running lights (DRLs), complemented by a reinforced lower bumper with black fog lamp surrounds. The side profile maintains a clean, rugged, and conventional pick-up silhouette. At the rear, the traditional brand badge has been replaced with centrally positioned "Peugeot" and "Landtrek" script lettering. Dimension-wise, the double-cab variant measures 5,330 mm in length, the single-cab is 5,390 mm long, and the overall width across the range is 1,920 mm. It features a 3,180 mm wheelbase and a ground clearance of 235 mm. Inside, the Landtrek foregoes Peugeot's signature passenger-car "i-Cockpit" architecture in favour of a dashboard layout mirroring the Kaicene F70. The facelifted model gains a new two-spoke multi-function steering wheel, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 10-inch central touchscreen infotainment display.
Powertrain and Performance
The Landtrek offers a diverse line-up of engine options. The petrol variant is powered by a 2.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine (coded 4K22D4T), producing 210 PS and 320 Nm of torque. On the diesel front, the entry-level offering is a 1.9-litre turbodiesel generating 150 PS and 350 Nm of torque. Following the 2024 facelift, higher-spec variants adopted a new 2.2-litre Multijet four-cylinder turbodiesel engine (2,184 cc displacement), outputting 200 PS and 450 Nm of torque. Transmission options see the 2.4T petrol paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox; the 1.9T diesel is mated solely to a 6-speed manual gearbox; while the 2.2T diesel can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a new EAT8 8-speed automatic transmission. For 0–100 km/h sprint times, the petrol 4x4 automatic takes approximately 11.2 seconds, while selected variants clock around 14.9 seconds. Top speed ranges between 172 km/h and 180 km/h.
Chassis and Handling
Built on a heavy-duty ladder-frame chassis (body-on-frame), the Landtrek employs a front double-wishbone independent suspension and a rear leaf-spring non-independent rigid axle setup. Drivetrain choices include front-engine rear-wheel drive (4x2) and front-engine four-wheel drive (4x4). The 4x4 variants are fitted with an Eaton rear differential lock, operable via an electronic rotary dial inside the cabin to aid off-road recovery. Minimum ground clearance is rated at 235 mm, with approach and departure angles optimised for harsh terrains. The pick-up delivers a 1.2-tonne payload capacity and a 3-tonne towing rating. Four selectable drive modes are available—Normal, Sport, Snow, and Sand—catering to varied on-road and off-road driving conditions. Steering assistance is delivered via a hydraulic power steering setup.
Cabin and Equipment
The Landtrek's cabin is laid out with a clear driver-centric focus. The 10-inch central touchscreen features an updated UI with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration. Below the display is a row of toggle-style piano switches for quick access to essential vehicle functions. Seating arrangements offer either two individual front seats or a three-passenger bench, while the rear bench provides a 60/40 split-folding or full fold-down capability. In terms of cargo bed dimensions, the single-cab bed measures 2,430 × 1,600 × 500 mm, the double-cab measures 1,630 × 1,600 × 500 mm, and the width between wheel arches stands at 1,220 mm. The cargo bed is equipped with integrated LED lighting and a 12V power outlet. The tailgate can be opened up to 180 degrees. Peugeot provides up to 60 genuine accessories, including thermoformed bedliners, hardtop canopies, chrome sports bars, protective floor mats, and side steps.
Safety and Driver Assistance
The Landtrek comes standard across the range with six airbags, Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), and Lane Departure Warning (LDW). Higher variants of the facelifted model are upgraded with an advanced ADAS suite, incorporating Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Stop & Go functionality and Blind Spot Monitoring. Active safety is further supported by Hill Descent Control (HDC). The vehicle can be fitted with up to four cameras, including an off-road camera mounted on the passenger-side wing mirror.
Market Performance and Reception
Since its launch in 2020, the Peugeot Landtrek has been sold in over 40 countries, with key markets spanning Latin America (Mexico, Uruguay, Ecuador, Paraguay, Panama, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, etc.), Africa, and the Middle East. In the Malaysian market, the Landtrek officially debuted in March 2023 with a starting price of around RM120,072, followed by a Special Edition variant launched in May 2024 at RM129,124. As of May 2026, cumulative registrations of the Landtrek in Malaysia stood at 187 units. The 2025 facelifted model has progressively launched across international markets, carrying a starting price of R388,900 in South Africa. The Landtrek's distinctiveness stems from its Sino-French collaborative roots—contract-assembled by China's Changan Automobile, blended with Peugeot's distinctive design identity and French suspension tuning, specifically tailored for emerging markets. Its launch marks Peugeot's strategic revival in the competitive pick-up truck segment.
