LUMMA is a German automotive custom modification high-end brand, founded by creator Horst Lumma in 1987 and headquartered in Winterlingen, Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The brand takes "Born for collection" as its core concept and adheres to the brand culture "Only for the brave who dare to go against the trend." LUMMA focuses on the customization and upgrade of global high-end luxury models, with base vehicles covering top brands such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Land Rover, Porsche, Bentley, and Lamborghini.

The brand logo adopts a shield shape, with black smooth lines outlining the contour. The letters "LUMMA" appear above the shield, while the interior uses abstract lines and black-and-white checkered patterns to enhance recognizability, giving it a rich artistic and creative feel.
Founder Horst Lumma's parents were German designers. He grew up in an artistic atmosphere, and at the age of 17 he had already manually developed track karts, showing amazing mechanical talent. Initially starting with maintenance, repair, and tuning, he became popular for cutting B-pillars to create convertible versions of base models, gradually putting effort into exterior kits and power systems, and forming a unique modification style.
The brand has won many honors in the Swiss modification design competition, and its products are frequently secured by global celebrities and politicians. Since the 1990s, it has launched exclusive wide-body aerodynamic kits for European luxury brands such as BMW. In the 2000s, its modification range extended to the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, Land Rover Defender, Range Rover, and others. The LUMMA CLR X 650 M launched in 2010 was equipped with a 670 horsepower V8 engine and a top speed of 360 km/h, demonstrating its engineering strength. Recently launched flagship models include the CLR G770 R Knight (2021, based on the Mercedes-Benz G-Class) and the CLR LD Challenger (2022, based on the Land Rover Defender), among others. Since its launch, the Challenger series has released six color schemes in three years, satisfying high-end personalized needs with rapid iteration. In November 2020, LUMMA officially entered the Chinese mainland market. Between 2020 and 2021, relying on the Hangzhou Official Operation Center, the brand completed the import customs declaration and Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) filing of its first batch of vehicles, providing legally registerable customized vehicles for Chinese customers through complete vehicle import.
LUMMA builds its brand matrix with multiple independently announced vehicles (MIIT catalog filed complete vehicles, not aftermarket kits), covering full-size SUV, large SUV, off-road, and supercar categories.
CLR G770 R Knight (based on the Mercedes-Benz AMG G63): Manufacturer's suggested retail price 3.86–4.68 million RMB.
CLR X7 (based on the BMW X7): A 7-seat full-size luxury space.
CLR LD Challenger (based on the Land Rover Defender 110): Guide price approximately 1.68 million RMB.
GT35 Defender (based on the Ford Bronco): Launched in 2024, integrating wide-body design and fighter jet style elements.
G780 Gluck (based on the Mercedes-Benz GLS): Equipped with 3.0T or 4.0T engines, globally limited to 386 units.
GS650 Zeppelin (flagship sedan): Deeply customized based on the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, focusing on top-tier comfort and a luxurious atmosphere.
All announced vehicles undergo engineering development and production in Germany, equipped with LUMMA's exclusive exterior wide-body aerodynamic kits, power performance systems, chassis tuning, luxury interiors, and exhaust systems, and have passed ECE, TÜV, and China MIIT filing, making them legally registerable. CLR series products are produced under a quality control model with global limits of 388 units or fewer.
LUMMA targets the top-tier luxury class, adopting a limited customization plus complete vehicle import model. China is its core incremental market, and it released the Challenger "Miracle Yellow" and "Fortress Edition" at the 2024 Guangzhou Auto Show. In recent years, market enthusiasm has continued to rise, and models such as the G770, Challenger, and Gluck (limited to 386 units) have performed largely in line with initial launch expectations, demonstrating the brand's stable ability to continuously meet the consumption needs of high-net-worth groups.
From the perspective of product line iteration, the Challenger series has cumulatively released six color schemes (covering petrol, diesel, and various personalized customization options) since its launch in 2022, with iteration speed significantly improved. Brand new exclusive supercar products are also in the simultaneous R&D process, and the brand's market strategy focus is shifting from a single reliance on its SUV matrix to a high-end series covering sedans. The sedan flagship represented by the GS650 Zeppelin continues to penetrate the high-collector-value market, forming a stable positive demand loop with consumers in the high-end custom vehicle track.
LUMMA's technical system is built around five dimensions:
Exterior Aerodynamic Wide-body System: Mass application of T800 grade carbon fiber materials, covering front lips, fenders, hoods, and rear diffusers, achieving aggressive styling tension and true lightweighting.
Power Performance System: Specially tuned ECU and exhaust optimization based on the original engine. For example, the CLR G770 is equipped with a 4.0T V8 engine delivering maximum power of 500 kW and maximum torque of 1,000 N·m, achieving 0–100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. The LUMMA Challenger base model produces 480 horsepower from its 3.0T engine paired with a 48V mild hybrid system, achieving 0–100 km/h in 5.5 seconds.
Chassis System: Carbon fiber wheel arch wide-body design combined with high-performance suspension and brake upgrades.
Luxury Interior System: Using Italian Alcantara or MASTROTTO leather, fully hand-wrapped, complemented by a starlight ceiling and custom ambient lighting.
Exhaust System: Titanium alloy or dual-side quad-out or six-out exhaust, balancing performance improvement with sound quality.
The brand headquarters is located in Winterlingen, Stuttgart, Germany, radiating to approximately 30 developed countries globally, with cooperation channels in the Americas, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific.
Since 2019, LUMMA has established Hangzhou Lumman Automotive Sales Co., Ltd. jointly with Jiangsu Chechi, setting up an Official Operation Center (at the Hangzhou T-Car Automotive Culture Theme Park, occupying 4,000 square meters). This serves as the headquarters for import services in the Chinese mainland and the Asia-Pacific, responsible for customs declaration, commercial inspection, certification, logistics, spare parts, and delivery, with a sales network covering 15 high-end core cities nationwide.
LUMMA is accelerating product youth iteration and powertrain diversification. Starting in 2024, major models have incorporated wide design and fighter jet style elements on an off-road basis, satisfying the aesthetic preferences of the new generation of high-net-worth individuals. Some core models now offer 48V mild hybrid system options, complying with environmental protection and energy efficiency trends. Facing the electrification wave in the luxury market, the brand's technology reserves and supply chain channels have reserved room for expansion. Specific high-performance electric product planning and customization implementation windows will be the focus of future trends.
