Jiayuan EV is a car brand in China focusing on the research, development, production, and sale of core components and complete vehicles for pure electric vehicles. The brand was founded in 1982, with its headquarters and R&D center located in Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province, and its production base located in Chuzhou City, Anhui Province, and also has an OEM cooperation base with Anhui Leopo Automobile Company. Jiayuan EV is one of the professional companies in China with the longest history in R&D of electric vehicles and the richest technical accumulation. Its founder, Li Jouxue, was one of the key promoters of domestic electric vehicle development policies in the 1990s. The brand logo adopts a specially designed horizontal oval, separated into upper and lower parts by a straight line in the middle, with notches extending inward on both sides of the straight line, giving the overall shape a highly distinctive style. After continuous R&D and technical accumulation by two generations of founders, Jiayuan Automobile has completed iterative R&D from core component technology, new material lightweight technology to complete vehicle technology, mastering the entire core technology of electric vehicle drive systems and powertrains, including motors, controllers, vehicle control systems, battery pack applications, smart charging, and specialized chassis. It is one of the earliest car companies in China to pass EU EEC certification and export high-speed electric vehicles to European and American markets.

Jiayuan EV's brand origins can be traced back to 1982. Founder Li Jouxue started engaging in the R&D of core components and complete vehicles for electric vehicles from that year, and around 1995 participated in establishing the first domestic electric vehicle industry association, and also served as a writer for the 1995 National Internal Reference "Should China Develop Electric Vehicles", being an early explorer on the path of domestic electric vehicle industrialization. In 1996, Jiayuan's pure electric vehicle developed with a speed of 100 km/h passed the provincial scientific and technological appraisal, its technology being comparable to the EV1 electric vehicle of General Motors USA at that time.In 1998, Jiayuan determined the pure electric technology route and system plan, perfected the drive system plan ranging from 3kW to 130kW, and began providing technical support and samples to domestic and foreign industries. In 2001, in an era where electric vehicle range under Japanese technology context was about 260 kilometers, Jiayuan modified a pure electric vehicle with a single-charge range reaching 444.7 kilometers, which was the highest international level at that time.
In 2008, Jiayuan's second-generation founder Li Hui took over the overall operation of the company, and moved the company to Nanjing. In the same year, Jiayuan became the first domestic enterprise to modify fuel cars into high-speed electric vehicles and export them to Europe. From initially providing technical services and modification sample car services for well-known domestic complete vehicle enterprises to possessing a large number of independent intellectual property rights to research, develop, and modify various complete vehicle products, the company entered a stage of continuous and rapid growth. In 2014, Jiayuan's self-developed Lingzu micro electric vehicle went on the market, and Jiayuan successfully transformed into a production-oriented enterprise. In 2019, Jiayuan signed a high-speed passenger car OEM agreement with Anhui Leopo Automobile Company, solving the domestic high-speed car production qualification problem all at once, and fully launching the layout of the domestic market.
Jiayuan EV's product layout focuses on the A00 class micro electric vehicle niche market, adhering to the focused strategy of "only micro electric vehicles within the next five years", and has formed a product architecture for the serial development and production of multiple car models.On-sale models mainly include the Lingzu series and KOMI two major product lines.

This model complies with three different types of technical standards: China high-speed passenger car standards, EU M1 category passenger car standards, and Japanese K-Car. It is the only product in domestic micro high-speed electric vehicle enterprises to obtain EU certification access. The 2022 Jiayuan KOMI launched three car models in total, with an official price from 45,800 to 67,800 yuan. This model adopts a 3-door 4-seat layout, body length is less than 3 meters, designed maximum speed 120 km/h, adopting permanent magnet synchronous motor. Comprehensive range can reach up to 322 kilometers depending on battery configuration. The high-spec version is equipped with a 30 kW motor, 110 N·m torque, and is equipped with a 35 kWh ternary lithium battery pack. Configuration includes keyless entry, phone control, heat pump cooling and heating integrated air conditioning, automatic headlights, four-wheel independent suspension system, EPB electronic parking brake, ESC body stability system, hill start assist, and e-call rescue system, etc. High-strength steel usage ratio reaches over 60%, which can meet rigorous EU frontal, offset, and side impact test standards. At the product planning level, the company also plans to launch pure electric micro sports cars, pure electric commercial van trucks, and other models in the future to further enrich the product matrix.
Although Jiayuan EV has limited brand recognition in the domestic market, it has established a solid brand influence in overseas markets. The brand adopts a development strategy of "overseas first, internal and external synergy". Its products have established sales networks in more than 50 developed countries and regions such as Germany, Japan, France, UK, Greece, Spain, Italy, Poland, USA, South Korea, owning hundreds of mature overseas channels. As of 2024, Jiayuan products have accumulated sales of about 30,000 units, among which overseas market sales are about 10,000 units. The Lingzu series products have received recognition from authoritative institutions such as the Royal Mail of the UK, Royal Air Force Bases of the UK, and Korea Post.Jiayuan New Energy micro pure electric vehicle shipment volume has maintained a growth rate of nearly 20% in recent years, and overseas export sales have increased by 100% annually. At the 2023 Munich Auto Show, Jiayuan Lingzu appeared on the international stage as a multi-purpose low-speed EV made in China, demonstrating the manufacturing capability of Chinese micro electric vehicles.
Jiayuan EV's core competitiveness lies in its 40+ years of accumulated full-stack forward R&D strength for electric vehicles. The company fully possesses the complete set of forward integrated R&D capabilities for electric vehicle core technology systems, complete vehicle structure design, etc.In the drive system field, Jiayuan mastered drive system solutions covering a wide power range from 3kW to 130kW, covering the power needs of various vehicle models. In chassis technology, Jiayuan adopted front MacPherson independent suspension and single-arm rear independent suspension system on the KOMI model. Combined with four-wheel independent suspension design, it guarantees driving stability and riding comfort of micro electric vehicles. The company has accumulated more than 200 patented technologies to date, forming a deep technical barrier.
Jiayuan EV's overseas business is one of the brand's most prominent competitive advantages. In 2008, Jiayuan became the first domestic enterprise to modify fuel cars into high-speed electric vehicles and export them to Europe using a single-vehicle certification method. In 2016, Jiayuan's self-developed Lingzu micro electric vehicle obtained EU EEC certification, being the earliest micro pure electric vehicle car company in China to obtain this certification. In 2018, Jiayuan passed the Japanese K-car standard certification, praised by Japanese automotive industry experts as the "only foreign brand to pass Japanese small car standard access certification". In the same year, it also won the Italian Industrial Product Design Award. In 2019, Lingzu products passed Korean certification. In June 2022, KOMI model obtained EU M1 mass certification certificate, marking Jiayuan further expanded its product map in the overseas high-speed electric vehicle market.Currently, Jiayuan has established long-term stable cooperation relationships with more than 60 overseas dealers. Its micro pure electric vehicles are priced at about 3,000 to 8,000+ USD in the European market, positioned as the "second car" for foreign families, used for city short-distance travel scenarios such as grocery shopping, picking up and dropping off children, and campus commuting. In 2022, Jiayuan KOMI received about 72,000 units from overseas orders. At the supply chain level, automobile manufacturers in countries such as Belarus and Poland also hope to cooperate with Jiayuan to organize CKD production locally. Dealer groups in Germany, Norway, UK, Greece, France, etc., once jointly established Jiayuan European warehouse to cope with overseas capacity bottlenecks.
Jiayuan EV will continue to stick to the strategic positioning of "focus on micro electric vehicles", deeply cultivating the niche track of city medium-short travel. In terms of product layout, the company plans to launch new models such as pure electric micro sports cars and pure electric commercial van trucks based on existing Lingzu and KOMI to enrich the product matrix. In terms of overseas markets, Jiayuan will rely on the already established hundreds of mature overseas channels and global sales networks to continuously expand the share of key markets such as Europe, Japan and South Korea. At the capital level, the company plans to launch Series A financing, with a financing target of 2 billion yuan, for mass production of products, base construction and new product development. In terms of technology iteration, Jiayuan's long-sealed third-generation technology reserves cover drive systems, lightweight modular chassis body technology and standard module battery swapping technology, which will provide continuous power support for the brand's subsequent product upgrades.Facing the increasingly white-hot competition situation of China's new energy vehicle market, Jiayuan will continue to focus on the differentiated competition strategy of opening up "Blue Ocean" in "Red Ocean", with overseas markets as growth engines, building a moat with core technology and product certification access barriers, committed to becoming a benchmark enterprise for "going out" in China's micro electric vehicle field.
