Jaguar F-PACE PHEV

2026-10-08 02:00:01

The Jaguar F-PACE PHEV (Jaguar F-PACE P400e) is the plug-in hybrid derivative of the brand's pioneering SUV, the F-PACE. Previously offered in the domestic market as a fully imported (CBU) model, it formed part of the core F-PACE line-up. As a crucial offering in Jaguar's electrification transition, the F-PACE PHEV received a substantial update for the 2024 model year, gaining a larger-capacity battery pack that notably enhanced its all-electric driving range. By December 2025, with the final F-PACE rolling off the assembly line at the Solihull plant in the UK, Jaguar officially ceased production of all internal combustion engine (ICE) and plug-in hybrid models to complete its transformation into an all-electric luxury brand.

Design Language

Visually, the 2024 F-PACE PHEV retains the overall design cues of its petrol-powered siblings, subtly differentiated by bespoke electrified touches. Up front, it features Jaguar's signature oversized grille and double-L daytime running lights, complemented by sleek, muscular body contours that preserve the athletic stance derived from the F-TYPE sports car. For the 2024 model year, the range was streamlined by dropping all non-R-Dynamic trims, standardising the line-up into five variants: R-Dynamic S, R-Dynamic SE, R-Dynamic HSE, 400 SPORT, and SVR. The P400e plug-in hybrid is offered exclusively within the R-Dynamic series. The R-Dynamic SE and higher variants come standard with the Gloss Black Exterior Pack, which adds blackened side mirror caps, front grille and surround, window surrounds, and rear badging. Dimensionally, the SUV measures 4,747 mm long, 2,071 mm wide, and 1,664 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,874 mm. Inside, the cabin adopts a horizontal T-shaped layout, anchored by a new digital instrument cluster and the Pivi Pro infotainment system.

Powertrain and Performance

Under the bonnet, the F-PACE P400e is powered by a plug-in hybrid powertrain pairing a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor. The system delivers a combined output of 404 PS (approximately 297 kW) and a peak torque of 640 Nm, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The century sprint from 0 to 100 km/h is accomplished in 5.3 seconds, with a top speed of 240 km/h. The 2024 model year upgraded to a larger 19.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, expanding from eight to nine modules. Under WLTP testing, the pure electric range has been boosted to 65 km, representing an increase of over 20% compared to the predecessor's 53 km. Combined fuel consumption on the WLTP cycle is rated as low as 1.6 L/100 km, with CO2 emissions kept to just 37 g/km.

Chassis and Handling

Underpinned by Jaguar Land Rover's longitudinal platform, the F-PACE P400e features a front-engine, all-wheel-drive layout with an AWD system fitted as standard across the range. The chassis setup comprises a front double-wishbone independent suspension and a rear multi-link independent suspension, utilising large hollow-cast aluminium alloy H-arms to significantly reduce unsprung mass. The suspension is tuned for a sportier bias, providing taut and communicative chassis feedback. It also comes standard with JaguarDrive Control, offering multiple selectable drive modes. For charging, the SUV supports 35 kW DC fast charging, taking the battery from 0 to 80% in 30 minutes; via a 7 kW AC wallbox charger, a full charge takes approximately 2.5 hours.

Cabin and Equipment

The cabin comes standard with a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster and an 11.4-inch central touchscreen. Infotainment is handled by the Pivi Pro system, supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto connectivity. The R-Dynamic SE and above come standard with a wireless smartphone charging pad. Seating appointments include 12-way power-adjustable heated front seats, with an optional Meridian premium sound system available. Comfort features extend to four-zone automatic climate control and a panoramic glass sunroof. The boot offers a standard cargo capacity of 613 litres, expanding to 1,842 litres with the rear seats folded flat.

Safety and Driver Assistance

The F-PACE P400e is equipped with Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) as standard. Key features include Adaptive Cruise Control with Steering Assist, Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Blind Spot Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Rear Collision Monitor, Traffic Sign Recognition with Adaptive Speed Limiter, and Driver Condition Monitor. A reverse camera alongside front and rear parking sensors come standard across the range. On the passive safety front, the vehicle is protected by a comprehensive multi-airbag suite and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

Market Performance and Overview

The F-PACE PHEV has been an instrumental offering in Jaguar's electrification journey, with the P400e accounting for over 10% of total global F-PACE sales. The 2024 model year further bolstered its market appeal with the battery upgrade that pushed the pure electric range to 65 km. Official pricing for the 2025 Jaguar F-PACE range (including petrol variants) was tagged between RM478,000 and RM668,000. However, guided by Jaguar's complete electrification strategy, petrol models like the XE and XF were progressively phased out starting in mid-2024, leaving the F-PACE as the sole ICE model holding the fort until the end. In November 2025, Jaguar stopped accepting new orders in the UK market. By December 2025, the final F-PACE rolled off the line, marking the formal conclusion of Jaguar's 90-year history of manufacturing internal combustion vehicles. Serving as a crucial bridge from the internal combustion era to an all-electric future, the F-PACE PHEV successfully fulfilled its transitional role throughout its product lifecycle.
