The JMC Vigus Pro is a 4WD pick-up truck under Jiangling Motors Corporation (JMC) developed for export markets. Tailored as a strategic model for overseas destinations such as Malaysia, its domestic counterpart in China is the JMC Yuhu 9. The Vigus Pro officially debuted in Malaysia in October 2021, locally assembled (CKD) and distributed by Angka-Tan Motor (ATM), a subsidiary of JMC’s Malaysian partner Tan Chong Group. Positioned as a commercial pick-up in the local market, its main rivals include segment mainstays such as the Toyota Hilux, Mitsubishi Triton, and Isuzu D-Max.

Design Language
The Vigus Pro sports bold, American muscle-inspired styling on the exterior. The front fascia features a massive hexagonal grille flanked by multi-slat horizontal air-intake bars and slim, aggressive headlamps, delivering a stylish and commanding road presence. With its chiselled body lines, the pick-up presents a distinctive profile in the Malaysian market. Dimensionally, it measures 5,305 mm long, 1,905 mm wide, and 1,835 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 3,085 mm. Its wheelbase is on par with the Toyota Hilux, whilst its overall length is close to that of the Mitsubishi Triton. Inside, the Vigus Pro departs from the utilitarian workhorse norm of traditional pick-up trucks, boasting an upscale cabin ambiance rivalling that of an SUV. The interior comes equipped with a digital instrument cluster, a large touchscreen infotainment head unit, and a sleek electronic shift-by-wire gear selector. Steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters are also fitted. The seats are upholstered in manually adjustable fabric.
Powertrain Performance
The Vigus Pro is powered by a Ford-sourced 2.0-litre Puma four-cylinder turbodiesel engine. This powerplant delivers a maximum output of 141 PS and a peak torque of 340 Nm. Power is sent through an 8-speed automatic transmission (8AT) supplied by ZF. Official figures rate its combined fuel consumption at 7.8 L/100 km. The drivetrain is configured with a front-engine, four-wheel-drive (4WD) layout.
Chassis and Handling
Under the skin, the Vigus Pro is built on a rugged ladder-frame chassis. The 4WD system is supplied by BorgWarner, offering selectable drive modes comprising 2H (two-wheel drive high), 4H (four-wheel drive high), and 4L (four-wheel drive low). A differential is equipped to boost off-road capability and obstacle clearance. Braking performance is handled by a standard 3-in-1 braking suite featuring Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and Brake Assist (BA).
Cabin and Equipment
Inside the cabin, the Vigus Pro comes standard with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment head unit that supports a reverse camera. Comfort and convenience appointments include automatic projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights (DRLs), front fog lamps, power-adjustable heated side mirrors with demisters, remote-operated power windows, and conventional cruise control. The vehicle is available in four exterior colour choices: black, white, silver, and brown.
Safety and Driver Assistance
In terms of safety equipment, the Vigus Pro is fitted as standard with dual front airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill Start Assist (HSA), and Hill Descent Control (HDC). However, the Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems available on China's Yuhu 9 are omitted from the Malaysian-spec Vigus Pro.
Market Performance and Reception
JMC ranks as the second best-selling pick-up brand in the Chinese market. Serving as JMC's debut model in Malaysia, the Vigus Pro was launched in 2021 priced at RM98,888 for Peninsular Malaysia and RM100,888 for East Malaysia. The vehicle is backed by a 3-year or 100,000 km manufacturer warranty. The Vigus Pro has achieved notable milestones locally: in August 2025, it became the first Chinese-brand pick-up truck to take part in Malaysia’s National Day Merdeka Parade; in the same year, JMC delivered a fleet of 53 Vigus Pro units to the Malaysia Civil Defence Force (JPAM/APM) for nationwide patrols, emergency response, and disaster relief operations. In addition, the JMC Vigus pick-up range has also been commissioned into service by the National Police of Benin.
