Hennessey Performance Engineering (HPE) is a high-performance car manufacturer and tuning brand headquartered in Sealy, Texas, USA. It was founded by John Hennessey in his home garage in 1991. The brand's core philosophy is "Making Fast Cars Faster." Relying on the experience of modifying over 14,000 vehicles for the world's most enthusiastic speed lovers, Hennessey has forged a legend of extreme performance, ranging from high-performance trucks and SUVs to ultimate supercars.

Brand History

John Hennessey's obsession with speed drove him to begin extraordinary modifications on the Mitsubishi 3000GT and Dodge Viper in the early 1990s, and gained international attention in major automotive publications due to its powerful performance. In 1991, John officially established the company from his home garage, quickly growing to become one of the world's largest independent automotive modification factories. In 1994, the company moved to Houston, Texas, and was officially named "Hennessey Performance Engineering"。

In 2017, the brand established the "Hennessey Special Vehicles (HSV)" division, aiming to create the world's fastest production car — Venom F5. Its early work, Venom GT, once set the world record for the fastest production car at 435.31 km/h.

Product Portfolio

Hennessey's product layout features a "dual-wing approach". On one hand, performance modification kits are provided for Ford, Dodge, and Chevrolet pickups, SUVs, and muscle cars (such as the Mammoth 6x6 six-wheel drive beast); on the other hand, the Venom F5 series developed in-house by the HSV division is gradually becoming the performance totem of the brand.

Venom F5 (Base Version, 2021 Delivery): The brand's first 100% self-developed mass-produced supercar, globally limited to 24 units. Equipped with the 6.6L V8 twin-turbo engine codenamed "Fury", outputting 1817 horsepower, peak torque 1617 N·m. 0-100 km/h acceleration takes only 2.6 seconds, target top speed over 500 km/h, base price around $3 million.

Venom F5 Revolution (From 2023): Extreme version focused on track performance, globally limited to 24 units (hardtop) and 11 units (convertible).

Venom F5 Evolution (2025): The masterpiece equipped with the Evolution kit, horsepower increased to full load 2031 hp, rising to the "strongest internal combustion engine production car today". 0-200 mph (320 km/h) only takes 10.3 seconds.

F5 Revolution LF (Maverick Special Edition, Released August 2025): Ultimate collection custom, equipped with 2031 hp 6.6L V8 and matched with 6-speed manual transmission.

Market Performance

As a top-tier private supercar manufacturer, Hennessey's revenue mainly relies on mature and stable modification business. The company delivered over 560 modified vehicles in 2024, expected to soar to 900 units in 2025, and expected to exceed 1300 units delivery within 2026. At the supercar sales level, founder John publicly confirmed that nearly 30 F5s have been delivered to customers globally.

Core Technology

"Fury" V8 Twin-Turbo Engine: Displacement 6.6 liters, all-aluminum cylinder block, equipped with specially developed titanium alloy exhaust valves. On the Evolution version, it can unleash 2031 horsepower and astonishing 224 kg·m torque when burning E85 fuel.

Lightweight Carbon Fiber Monocoque: F5 adopts a full carbon fiber monocoque cockpit structure, curb weight controlled below 1360 kg, achieving incredible power-to-weight ratio, providing absolute aerodynamic stability at high speeds.

Six-Wheel Electric Drive Tech: The brand has announced the "Deep Space Project (Project Deep Space)", which will use six independent motors to drive six wheels, expected horsepower over 2000 hp, limited production of 105 units.

Global Presence

The brand cooperates with top luxury car group H.R. Owen (Bugatti, Lamborghini retailer) in London for sales; layout in Middle East and India through early agreements; radiating globally through authorized dealer networks in North and Central America and Europe. In China, it is mainly through high-end imported car distribution channels and major auto shows for display and sales.

Future Outlook

Hennessey is expanding its 51,000 square foot factory in Texas, starting in 2026 aiming to advance production capacity to over 1,300 units. Meanwhile, the brand is providing extreme personalized customization through the establishment of the "Maverick" department, and by precisely merging with automation and high-performance design, it is fully advancing into the most forward-looking six-wheel all-electric ruling field, continuing to maintain its performance dominance at the global intersection of internal combustion engines and electrification.
