The Yue 01 is EV House's second all-electric offering following the YOUNG Guang Xiaoxin, officially hitting the market in 2024. Positioned as an A-segment pure electric city car with a 5-door, 4-seater layout, it is engineered primarily for urban commuting and short-distance runabouts, taking on the fiercely contested micro-EV segment with an accessible entry price and a relatively generous suite of tech. The 2024 Yue 01 comes with two CLTC pure electric range options of 251 km and 335 km across 6 variant trims, with official retail prices spanning from RM59,800 to RM79,800.

Design Language
The Yue 01 sports a relatively rounded and curvaceous exterior styling. Up front, a blanked-off grille highlights its pure EV identity, complemented by a lower trapezoidal air intake on the bumper to inject a hint of sportiness. The triangular headlight clusters feature matching triangular lighting signatures inside, lending the front fascia distinct visual character. In profile, the car features a two-tone paint scheme paired with a floating roof design, while an upswept shoulder line and gloss-black side mirrors give it an upscale touch. Dimension-wise, it measures 3,750 mm long, 1,655 mm wide, and 1,550 mm tall, riding on a 2,415 mm wheelbase. At the rear, full-width LED taillights mirror the front lamp styling, capped by a chunky roof spoiler that adds depth to the rear end. Inside, the dashboard employs a multi-material layered layout; top-spec variants boast a 12.8-inch floating central touchscreen, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, and a rotary gear selector.
Powertrain and Performance
The entire Yue 01 lineup is powered by a front-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor (code: TZ180XS90AA), churning out 35 kW (approx. 48 PS) and 125 Nm of peak torque. Paired with a single-speed EV reduction gearbox driving the front wheels (FWD), top speed is rated at 100 km/h. For energy storage, the 251 km variant packs a 24 kWh Gotion High-tech lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, whereas the 335 km variant gets a larger 32.56 kWh LFP pack from the same supplier, delivering 251 km and 335 km of CLTC range respectively. Under DC fast charging, a 30% to 80% state of charge (SoC) takes 30 minutes. Energy consumption is rated at 9.9–10.3 kWh per 100 km. The vehicle is backed by a 3-year or 120,000 km manufacturer warranty.
Chassis and Handling
Underneath, the front-wheel-drive Yue 01 runs on front MacPherson struts and a rear torsion beam setup—a tried-and-tested configuration commonly found in entry-level city cars. Braking duties are handled by ventilated discs at the front and drums at the rear, paired with a conventional mechanical handbrake. Steering is managed by an Electric Power Steering (EPS) system, with 185/55 R15 tyres wrapped around steel wheels. Driving modes include Eco and Standard, accompanied by Hill Start Assist (HSA). The suspension setup is biased towards low-speed urban cruising, delivering light and effortless driving dynamics.
Cabin and Equipment
Cabin appointments vary across the range. The lower-spec Anyue and Shuyue variants settle for a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen, whilst the Shuyue+ and higher trims upgrade to a 12.8-inch unit. The infotainment suite supports 4G connected services, smartphone screen mirroring, Bluetooth connectivity, and Over-The-Air (OTA) software updates. Driver information is displayed on a 7-inch digital screen. Seat upholstery is fabric on base trims, with higher specs getting leatherette; the rear bench folds flat in a single piece to boost boot capacity from 230 litres up to 540 litres. Standard convenience kit includes manual air conditioning, front and rear power windows, and a 2- to 4-speaker sound system. Higher trims gain extras such as a reverse camera, rear parking sensors, and a multifunction steering wheel.
Safety and Driver Assistance
On the safety front, the Yue 01 comes standard with dual front airbags (driver and front passenger) only, lacking side or curtain airbags. Active safety kit includes Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), seatbelt reminders, and rear ISOFIX child seat anchors. Crucially, however, electronic safety aids such as Brake Assist (BA), Traction Control System (TCS), and Electronic Stability Control (ESC) are completely missing across the entire range. In terms of driver aids, higher trims feature rear parking sensors and a reverse camera, both of which are omitted on base variants. Cruise control is unavailable across the board. While some comparative media reviews have cited features like Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), and Full-Speed Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), these run contrary to official specification sheets and are not present on production models on sale.
Market Performance and Reception
Priced between RM59,800 and RM79,800, the Yue 01 competes in the pure electric micro-car segment alongside heavyweights such as the Wuling Hongguang MINIEV, Changan Lumin, Geely Panda mini, and Chery QQ Ice Cream. Spec-for-spec, the Yue 01 holds an edge in overall dimensions (3,750 mm length) and wheelbase (2,415 mm), while its practical 5-door, 4-seater layout offers far easier rear passenger access. However, its starting price of RM59,800 is considerably higher than rivals that kick off in the RM29,800 to RM39,800 bracket, with EV House's limited brand equity severely holding back its commercial traction.
Sales figures have been lackluster. Data reveals that in March 2025, the Yue 01 registered just 19 units, bringing cumulative Q1 2025 sales to a meager 91 units. Industry analysts widely attribute this sluggish take-up to poor brand recognition, an underdeveloped aftersales service network, and lingering questions over product quality control.
Quality-wise, complaint records on consumer platforms like 12365auto remain minimal as of June 2025 due to its short time on the market. However, EV House's debut model, the YOUNG Guang Xiaoxin, previously drew widespread complaints regarding high-voltage battery faults, sudden loss of drive power on the move, and sluggish aftersales support, which has dented buyer confidence in the Yue 01. Among owners, feedback has been fairly receptive towards the responsive 12.8-inch screen and respectable real-world range (on the 335 km version), but many remain cautious about long-term reliability and aftersales backup.
On the whole, the EV House Yue 01 demonstrates decent fundamentals in design, driving range, and onboard connectivity as the brand's sophomore effort, with its dual 251 km and 335 km range offerings catering to different buyer budgets. Nonetheless, in an increasingly saturated micro-EV market dominated by established players, the Yue 01 faces an uphill battle against low brand presence, uncompetitive pricing, and a thin dealer footprint. For prospective buyers, overall value for money, aftersales network reliability, and long-term vehicle dependability remain crucial considerations before taking the plunge.
