Bufori CS8

2026-10-08 09:30:00

The Bufori CS8 is a flagship two-door super GT sports car unveiled in August 2025 by Malaysian handcrafted luxury carmaker Bufori. The model celebrated its global debut at Menara Affin in TRX, Kuala Lumpur, during Malaysia's 2025 Merdeka week, marking the culmination of the brand's ten-year development journey. The CS8 moniker is derived from its V8 petrol engine. As a machine designed, engineered, and handcrafted entirely in Malaysia, the CS8 stands as the most powerful and technologically advanced production car in Bufori's history, positioned to take on top-tier GTs like the Aston Martin Vanquish and Bentley Continental GT Speed.

Design Language

The CS8 marks a complete departure from Bufori's well-known retro styling heritage in its exterior design. The new car takes on a fastback coupe silhouette, with the main body handcrafted from the brand's signature Carbon-Kevlar composite—a lightweight, high-strength material Bufori has been using since 1989. Up front, it features automatic full-LED headlights and daytime running lights (DRLs), while the rear is dominated by distinctive four-piece full-LED taillights paired with a quad-exit exhaust system. In terms of dimensions, the car measures 4,568 mm long, 2,030 mm wide, and 1,292 mm tall, with a 2,609 mm wheelbase. Compared to the 2019 prototype, the production CS8's wheelbase has been stretched by 350 mm, yielding more balanced proportions and significantly more cabin room. Inside, the CS8 adopts a 2+2 seating layout, complete with hand-stitched leather upholstery, 8-way power-adjustable RECARO sports seats, exposed structural carbon-fibre trim, and a 13.6-inch portrait central touchscreen.

Powertrain and Performance

Powering the CS8 is a front-mid mounted 6.4-litre supercharged V8 petrol engine, developed from American HEMI architecture and fitted with forged internals and a charge-air cooler. Output is rated at a massive 810 hp (approx. 810 PS, 750 whp), with peak torque of 973 Nm (approx. 99.2 kgm) arriving at 4,800 rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters, complemented by a standard launch control system. The century sprint from 0 to 100 km/h is dealt with in just 3.0 seconds, on to a top speed of 330 km/h. Kerb weight is kept at just 1,550 kg. In addition, buyers can configure their car with an equivalent-displacement naturally aspirated V8 (475 hp / 640 Nm), a 3.6-litre supercharged V6 (455 hp / 495 Nm), a 3.6-litre naturally aspirated V6 (320 hp / 352 Nm), or a 3.0-litre twin-turbo inline-six (550 hp / 677 Nm), with the vehicle's asking price remaining identical regardless of engine choice.

Chassis and Handling

The CS8 is built on a Carbon-Kevlar monocoque chassis, delivering an optimal 25% four-corner weight distribution. Its suspension setup comprises front and rear active multi-link independent suspension, striking a balance between sharp cornering agility and grand touring comfort. Braking is handled by Brembo six-piston monobloc callipers wrapped in high-performance Michelin tyres. Steering is an electric power steering (EPS) setup. The car comes standard with a generous 100-litre fuel tank.

Cabin and Equipment

The CS8's cabin is heavily focused on luxury and bespoke craftsmanship. Hand-tailored premium leather wraps much of the interior, while the RECARO sports seats feature multi-way power adjustment. The centre console houses a 13.6-inch portrait touchscreen alongside a rotary gear selector. Boot capacity is rated at 252 litres. Every CS8 is strictly built-to-order, offering buyers extensive bespoke freedom over exterior paintwork, interior leathers, trim materials, and fine details, ensuring no two units are alike.

Safety and Driver Assistance

On the passive safety front, the Carbon-Kevlar monocoque tub delivers outstanding torsional rigidity and crash protection. Active safety kit includes an anti-lock braking system (ABS), traction control, and other electronic driver aids. The CS8 also comes equipped with an integrated lap timer for owners keen on tracking circuit lap times.

Market Overview and Reception

The Bufori CS8 made its global debut in August 2025. Pricing in Malaysia starts from RM2,188,000 (excluding insurance). The launch of this model heralds Bufori's strategic pivot from neo-classic coachbuilding to the modern super GT arena. Bufori founder Gerry Khouri noted: "The CS8 represents the pinnacle of Bufori's design and engineering prowess. It is composed, accessible, and robust; whether you're tackling cross-continental drives or carving up mountain passes, it is a grand tourer built to inspire uncompromised confidence."Handcrafted right here in Malaysia by a team of 150 local artisans, the CS8 carves out a unique presence in the bespoke ultra-luxury GT segment with its colossal 810 hp output, blistering 3-second century sprint, and deep level of personalisation.
