Baizhi New Energy

2026-06-01 16:50:00

Brand Overview

Baizhi New Energy is a sub-brand of Linktour Automotive in China focusing on micro and small pure electric commuter cars, officially established in 2021 and headquartered in Qinghe, Xingtai, Hebei. The brand's predecessor can be traced back to Hebei Yujie Vehicle Industry Co., Ltd., one of the earliest domestic enterprises dedicated to the research and manufacturing of low-speed electric vehicles. Baizhi New Energy takes "serving the country through industry, strengthening the county through industry, and enabling entrepreneurship for the people" as its corporate mission, and is committed to becoming a global leader in small multi-purpose electric passenger vehicles.

The brand logo is a polygon. A thick line is placed in the upper middle part of the interior, connecting the top edge of the polygon at the top and extending to the bottom point at the bottom. A diamond-shaped small logo is embedded in the middle. The overall style is simple and plain, fitting the user-friendly and practical market positioning of micro commuter cars.

Development History

Baizhi New Energy's history can be traced back to the era of low-speed electric vehicles. Hebei Yujie Vehicle Industry has long been deeply involved in the low-speed electric vehicle field. In July 2017, Yujie obtained the qualification for new energy sedan production, and in September of the same year, it established Linktour Automotive as a joint venture with Great Wall Motor. In 2018, Linktour launched its first model, the K-ONE. Initial sales were acceptable, but due to quality issues, complaints surged sharply, sales plummeted drastically, and in 2019, production was completely halted and the company entered the bankruptcy reorganization phase.

In 2021, Beijing Blue Bird Spirit Automotive took over Linktour Automotive entirely, giving birth to the Baizhi New Energy brand. In October of the same year, it debuted at the Jinan Auto Show with two models, the "Big Bear" and "Big Cat," launching the brand's new journey. Although Baizhi inherited Linktour's manufacturing legacy, it focuses on the micro and small pure electric commuter car market with an independent brand posture, successfully transforming from a low-speed electric vehicle factory into a high-speed new energy passenger vehicle manufacturer.

Brand Matrix / Product Line

Baizhi New Energy's product lineup is highly focused, with micro and small pure electric commuter cars as the core position.

Baizhi Big Bear: The brand's first mass-produced model, officially launched on January 1, 2022, targeting short-travel needs in tier 4, 5, and 6 cities and townships. It adopts a 5-door, 4-seat design with dimensions of 3390×1650×1595 mm and a wheelbase of 2275 mm. Equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor, it has a maximum power of 29 kW (approximately 39 hp), peak torque of 110 N·m, and a top speed of 100 km/h. Four range versions are available: 120 km, 138 km, 175 km, and 181 km, corresponding to LiFePO4 battery capacities ranging from 10.36 kWh to 15 kWh. The rear seats can be folded flat twice or split 50/50, and the trunk's maximum capacity reaches 1500 L, offering flexible space expansion capabilities to meet both passenger and cargo needs. The vehicle adopts front MacPherson independent suspension and a rear tow-arm semi-independent suspension, comes standard with EPS electric power steering, and has a turning radius of only 5 meters. The entire series is standard with child seat interfaces and child door locks, and the cage body structure combined with anti-collision steel beams provides basic safety protection. The early reference price ranged from 39,800 to 56,800 RMB.

Baizhi Big Cat: The brand's planned second model is a micro pure electric commuter car, highlighting large space while catering to female driving needs, and is positioned for young consumer groups in tier 3 and 4 cities. Its appearance has been shown as cute and small in official images, but as of early 2026, it has not yet officially gone into mass production or launch.

Market Performance

Baizhi New Energy's market lifecycle was extremely short. At the beginning of its launch in 2021, the Baizhi Big Bear gained some attention due to its high cost-performance ratio, with terminal delivery volume reaching 1,876 units in November 2021. Sales fluctuated in the first half of 2022, with 1,325 units in March, 1,180 units in April, and falling back to 505 units in May. Total brand sales exceeded 15,000 units in 2023, a year-on-year increase of 78%.

Entering 2024, the brand saw a cliff-like decline, with sales dropping to zero in January. Throughout 2025, the monthly average sales of the Baizhi Big Bear remained consistently at zero, and the brand has no substantial ranking in the sales charts of mainstream new energy vehicle companies. The factory located in Qinghe, Hebei has essentially ceased production, and Baizhi New Energy's core lifecycle totaled about two years.

Core Technologies

Baizhi New Energy has formed differentiated technical routes in two aspects: power system and space utilization.

In battery technology, the full series of LiFePO4 batteries (10.36/14.5/15 kWh) uses Gotion High-tech cells, ensuring cell quality and stability, with a usage cost of less than 4 cents per kilometer, and supports home 220V power charging (slow charge of 6-8 hours). In winter, battery heating technology pre-treatment helps maintain basic range performance in low-temperature environments.

In space utilization technology, the rear seat multi-fold design is one of the core selling points, capable of being folded completely flat in two ways or split 50/50, assisted by an internal fully flat floor, accommodating diverse loading modes while still providing comfortable legroom when the rear seats are upright.

In suspension and handling, the front MacPherson independent suspension combined with the rear tow-arm semi-independent suspension is a common layout for low-cost micro electric vehicles. It comes standard with EPS, has a turning radius of 5 meters, and the tall, narrow body combined with the small turning radius allows it to maneuver flexibly through narrow alleys and township roads.

In intelligent configuration, the approximately 9-inch floating central control screen integrates basic multimedia and reversing camera functions.

In safety structure, the cage body layout and anti-collision steel beams are adopted, equipped with child safety-related configurations, ensuring basic passive safety standards within limited costs.

Overseas Layout

Baizhi New Energy does not involve overseas markets, has not established overseas R&D branches or KD assembly plants, and its vehicles have always been produced and sold solely in China. It relies on the Linktour Automotive system, which covers new energy vehicles, power batteries, car sharing, fast battery swapping services, and other fields, but such initiatives have largely remained at the preliminary planning and project level and have not been translated into actual overseas market deployment.

Future Outlook

As of early 2026, Baizhi New Energy has completely halted operations in the Chinese micro electric vehicle market, with product iteration and new product development at a standstill. Whether the brand will be reactivated through strategic restructuring depends entirely on the will of its actual controlling parties, such as Beijing Blue Bird Spirit Automotive. Even though the enterprise entity has not yet publicly announced bankruptcy or liquidation, in the highly competitive micro pure electric commuter car field, Baizhi New Energy can hardly reproduce its peak sales of approximately 15,000 units in 2023.

This brand's "blossom like a fleeting cloud" presence in the A00-class micro electric vehicle market has become a small example of the dilemma faced by weak domestic passenger vehicle manufacturers. Under the comprehensive squeeze from competitors such as the Wuling Hongguang MINIEV and Changan Lumin, Baizhi New Energy could neither break through the cost and technology thresholds nor maintain the cost-performance advantage from the low-speed era, ultimately sliding toward the edge of production halt. Baizhi New Energy's current silent state indicates that, without major capital restructuring and brand reshaping to inject new momentum, it is highly likely to enter a phase of indefinite silence. The future of Baizhi New Energy is no longer in the brand's own hands.
