Aston Martin Valhalla

2026-10-07 19:00:00

Model Overview

The Aston Martin Valhalla is the first series-production mid-engine plug-in hybrid supercar from the British ultra-luxury marque Aston Martin. Tracing its design roots back to the AM-RB 003 concept unveiled in 2019, the production-ready model was officially unveiled in November 2025 following six years of development. Derived from Norse mythology as the hall of fallen warriors, the Valhalla is positioned as "the ultimate driver's supercar", marking the brand's latest effort to bring F1® technology into mainstream production following the Valkyrie hypercar.

The Valhalla is strictly limited to 999 units worldwide. In the Chinese market, the 2025 4.0T PHEV production version carries an official starting price of RM10,688,000, with other reports indicating a recommended retail price of RM11,788,000 for the 2026 model year. The supercar made its Chinese debut on the eve of the 2025 Guangzhou Auto Show, with customer deliveries in China slated to begin in Q2 2026.

Design Language

The Valhalla debuts a brand-new design language, combining an aggressive stance with sharp proportions to reflect pure supercar performance. Its sleek bodywork effortlessly expresses Aston Martin’s distinct design DNA. Constructed primarily from carbon fibre, it ditches a conventional fixed rear wing in favour of an advanced high-downforce active aerodynamic setup. Forward-hinged dihedral doors further elevate its dramatic supercar appeal. Dimension-wise, it measures 4,728 mm in length, riding on 285/30 R20 front tyres and 335/30 R21 rear tyres.

The Valhalla is offered with six bespoke livery themes inspired by Aston Martin’s illustrious formula racing heritage. The display car comes finished in Spectrum Silver with Track Red accents, featuring a striking spectrum effect overlaid on a minimalist silver base. The lower body features a gloss 2x2 twill carbon fibre aero kit, complemented by silver front grille vanes, a gloss black roof, and black brake callipers. Its forged magnesium alloy wheels feature a titanium-textured finish to match the titanium exhaust system.

Inside, the cabin is trimmed extensively in carbon fibre, encompassing the bucket seats and centre console. The steering wheel draws direct inspiration from modern F1 race cars. The reclined, race-inspired seating position takes cues from Formula 1 ergonomics to deliver an ultra-engaging driving experience. The cockpit is lavishly finished in forged carbon fibre. Meanwhile, the UX/UI layout follows a minimalist ethos, allowing the driver to read critical driving data at high speeds with minimal distraction. To maximise raw performance, the Valhalla is equipped with manually adjustable bucket seats and swaps the traditional rear windscreen for a digital rear-view mirror.

Powertrain & Performance

Under the skin, the Valhalla is powered by a plug-in hybrid powertrain pairing a 4.0-litre twin-turbo flat-plane crank V8 engine with three electric motors. Sourced from AMG, the bespoke V8 is extensively reworked and hand-assembled by Aston Martin engineers, churning out 828 PS (approx. 609 kW) to become the brand’s most potent V8 engine to date. The three electric motors (two mounted on the front axle and one integrated into the gearbox) add another 251 PS, bringing total system output to an immense 1,079 PS (approx. 794 kW) and 1,100 Nm of torque.

Power is sent through a newly developed 8-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) . The gearbox does away with a mechanical reverse gear, relying entirely on the front axle electric motors for reversing duties. It features a mid-engine all-wheel drive (AWD) layout.

Performance-wise, the Valhalla hits 0-100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds, on to an electronically governed top speed of 350 km/h. Running in pure EV mode, it offers a range of up to 14 km (WLTC cycle) and an electric top speed of 130-140 km/h. Battery capacity is rated at 6.1 kWh.

Chassis & Handling

The Valhalla leverages extensive F1®-derived chassis engineering. Built around a full carbon fibre monocoque tub, it tips the scales at a dry weight of just 1,655 kg—a remarkable achievement for a tri-motor plug-in hybrid supercar. The ultra-stiff monocoque provides a solid foundation for chassis and aero tuning.

In terms of suspension, the Valhalla skips conventional supercar layouts for an F1-style pushrod horizontal front suspension paired with a five-link rear setup. Braking is handled by six-piston front and four-piston rear Brembo callipers clamped onto 16.1-inch front and 15.3-inch rear carbon ceramic brake discs. It rides on Pilot Sport Cup 2 high-performance tyres, wrapped around 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels.

Active aerodynamics serve as another headline feature on the Valhalla. Active front and rear aero elements constantly vary their angles depending on speed, enabling DRS (Drag Reduction System)  and airbrake functionality. At 240 km/h, the car generates over 600 kg of downforce; as it climbs towards 350 km/h, the system actively trims the aero surfaces to maintain high-speed balance, outperforming the Ferrari SF90’s 530 kg figure.

The Integrated Vehicle Dynamics Control (IVC) system actively monitors the suspension, brakes, steering, active aero, and powertrain in real time, seamlessly adapting parameters based on the selected drive mode and road conditions. It works hand-in-hand with the Valhalla’s four dedicated driving modes.

Cabin & Equipment

Inside, the Valhalla is equipped with satellite navigation and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration, alongside a premium sound system from Bowers & Wilkins. Twin digital displays sit ahead of the driver to relay all essential information. As a pure, driver-focused supercar, the Valhalla’s cockpit balances everyday road usability with a clear priority on lightweight construction and uncompromised driving focus.

Safety & Driver Assistance

On the safety front, the full carbon fibre monocoque architecture offers immense structural rigidity and exceptional crash protection without adding unnecessary weight. The high-performance braking hardware—comprising six-piston front and four-piston rear Brembo callipers with carbon ceramic discs—delivers ferocious stopping power with superior fade resistance. Advanced active driver assistance systems take a backseat here, as the Valhalla is purely engineered to deliver raw, unfiltered driver feedback.

Market Performance & Verdict

The Valhalla represents a historic milestone for Aston Martin, bagging multiple accolades for the marque: its first series-production mid-engine supercar, first plug-in hybrid, first car powered by a bespoke flat-plane crank V8, and first to use the new 8-speed DCT gearbox. In many ways, its technical complexity even eclipses that of the flagship Valkyrie hypercar.

Development was spearheaded with deep involvement from Aston Martin Performance Technologies (AMPT)—the consulting division of the Aston Martin Aramco F1® Team—in the areas of vehicle dynamics, aerodynamics, and advanced materials. Two-time F1 World Champion Fernando Alonso served as chief test driver for the Valhalla, taking the wheel for its dynamic public debut on the eve of the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix.

In China, with a price tag starting from RM10,688,000, the Valhalla directly rivals top-tier exotics like the Ferrari SF90 and McLaren 765LT. Capped at just 999 units globally, it also boasts serious collector appeal. Industry analysts agree that with its mid-engine layout, 1,079 PS hybrid muscle, F1-derived pushrod suspension, and over 600 kg of downforce, the Valhalla establishes a new technical benchmark in the supercar realm. Ultimately, as the pioneer of Aston Martin’s mid-engine and electrification blueprint, the Valhalla seamlessly merges F1® motorsport know-how, blistering performance, and road-going usability into the brand's most advanced and sophisticated production car ever.
