Geely unveils Monjaro EM-i, a plug-in hybrid D-SUV for global markets

Geely has released official images of the Monjaro EM-i, showing the exterior and interior of its first global D-segment SUV. The model will make its overseas debut in Egypt, followed by launches in European markets.

The Monjaro EM-i follows Geely's "Symphony of Time and Space" design theme, with a clean, European-inspired look.

The front end is dominated by a large vertical grille and neatly styled headlights, while the body uses straight, geometric lines rather than heavy decorative details.

The side profile is relatively clean, with a gently rising beltline leading into a rear end finished with a full-width light bar.

The cabin takes a symmetrical layout, with a large central display and soft-touch materials covering much of the interior.

The dashboard features 3D laser-etched trim inspired by mountain landscapes, along with 256-colour ambient lighting and a crystal-style rotary controller.

There is also a generous amount of space in the second row, while folding the rear seats increases luggage capacity.

The Monjaro EM-i uses Geely's latest GEA Evo platform, an updated version of the GEA architecture used by models such as the EX5 electric SUV and Starray EM-i PHEV.

Power comes from a 1.5-litre turbocharged plug-in hybrid system, paired with electronic all-wheel drive. Geely says the system is designed to combine long-distance range and low fuel consumption while providing stable traction across a wider variety of road conditions.
