Geely Automobile Holdings has announced a major management reshuffle, with founder Li Shufu stepping down as chairman and executive director, effective 18 August 2026.
Li will take on the role of lifetime honorary chairman, while remaining chairman of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group and its controlling shareholder.

He will be succeeded by An Conghui, a veteran Geely executive with extensive experience across the group's automotive operations.
An will lead the new board and focus on closer coordination across the group and deeper cooperation with its controlling shareholder.

As part of the management reshuffle, Gan Jiayue has been appointed CEO, replacing Gui Shengyue, who will become vice chairman while remaining an executive director. Li Donghui has also stepped down as vice chairman but will remain an executive director.
The changes were announced alongside Geely Automobile's 2026 interim results, with Li highlighting the importance of succession and professional management in the company's long-term development.
Speaking at the results presentation, Li described the automotive industry as "a marathon with no finish line", saying that succession and corporate values were key to keeping a company on the right track.
He also praised An as one of the leading professional managers developed within the Geely system, expressing confidence in the new leadership team.
Geely said the transition will further strengthen its professional management structure, with Li continuing to support the company's long-term strategy while focusing on the wider Geely Holding Group.
