GAC Group Reports Strong Growth in May 2026: Exports Surge Over 140%

GAC Group recently released its production and sales data for May 2026. The group maintained steady growth momentum, with continuous expansion in business scale. Both domestic and overseas markets recorded notable increases.

In the first five months of 2026, GAC Group's cumulative vehicle sales exceeded 628,200 units, representing a 3.80% year-on-year increase. Sales in May alone reached 127,300 units, up 8.18% year-on-year, demonstrating strong monthly performance.

GAC Group's systematic overseas strategy has delivered impressive results. The overseas market has evolved from initial breakthroughs to large-scale growth, gaining increasing international recognition.

From January to May, GAC's local brands exported nearly 100,000 units, a sharp 135% increase year-on-year. In May alone, exports reached 28,386 units, surging 140% compared to the same period last year. The export growth rate has accelerated month by month, with both brand reputation and sales volume rising significantly.

GAC's own brands — Trumpchi, HYPTEC, and Aion — continued to perform well. In May, combined sales of local brands totalled 55,434 units, a solid 32.48% year-on-year increase.

Notably, GAC Trumpchi recorded cumulative sales of over 136,400 units from January to May, up 16.15% year-on-year. Monthly sales in May reached 23,488 units, representing a 12.86% month-on-month recovery.

The joint venture brands also delivered encouraging results. GAC Toyota's May sales reached 62,200 units, up 10.09% month-on-month. Cumulative sales for the first five months stood at 291,600 units, a 6.58% year-on-year increase. The bZ series performed particularly strongly, exceeding 10,000 units in May — doubling year-on-year with a 100.09% surge.

GAC Honda showed a remarkable recovery, with May sales soaring 77.61% month-on-month. The newly redesigned Breeze, Honda's first model equipped with the Huawei co-developed cloud-based smart cockpit, received strong market reception. Terminal sales of the Breeze reached 4,402 units in May, up 38.7% month-on-month.

GAC's overseas footprint continues to expand rapidly. The Americas market delivered the strongest performance, with May terminal sales surging 144% year-on-year. Several countries recorded explosive growth, including Colombia (+1,088%), Uruguay (+806%), Costa Rica (+733%), and Venezuela (+223%).

In Europe, GAC is steadily strengthening its presence. On May 28, the company officially launched the Aion V in the UK market, marking another important step in its European expansion strategy.
