Shanghai, May 8 – SAIC Audi officially launched global pre-sales for the all-new Audi E7X, a mid-to-large pure-electric SUV, on the evening of May 8 in Chengdu. The lineup includes five variants: Pioneer, Pioneer Pro, Pioneer quattro, Pioneer Intelligent Long-Range Edition, and Flagship quattro, with limited-time pre-sale prices ranging from 289,800 RMB to 379,800 RMB. As the second production model under the AUDI-E brand following the E5 Sportback, the E7X is built on the Advanced Digitized Platform (ADP), developed specifically for the Chinese market. It debuts the AI-powered Audi Assistant 2.0 and comes standard with an 900V high-voltage fast-charging platform and bidirectional 14° rear-wheel steering, positioning it as the brand's new "smart performance flagship SUV."

Pricing Strategy: Clear 30,000 RMB Tiers, Pre-Sale Incentives Lower Entry Barrier
The five variants are priced as follows: Pioneer at 289,800 RMB, Pioneer Pro at 319,800 RMB, Pioneer quattro at 349,800 RMB, Pioneer Intelligent Long-Range Edition at 349,800 RMB, and Flagship quattro at 379,800 RMB. The Long-Range Edition and Flagship quattro feature CATL's new 109 kWh "Energy Hub" large battery. Pre-sale incentives include a 2,000 RMB deposit that applies as 7,000 RMB toward the final purchase price, effectively a 5,000 RMB discount. Existing German-brand vehicle owners trading in or replacing their vehicles can receive up to 12,000 RMB in additional cash subsidies, bringing the effective entry price down to 272,800 RMB for qualifying customers. Additional perks include free choice of four premium paint colors (valued at 8,000 RMB) and lifetime vehicle warranty for the original owner.
ADP Platform: Purpose-Built for Chinese Market

The ADP platform features a zonal electrical/electronic architecture, enabling next-generation smart connectivity, full-vehicle OTA updates, and seamless integration with China's mainstream digital ecosystem. The E7X measures 5,049 mm in length, 1,997 mm in width, and 1,710 mm in height, with a 3,060 mm wheelbase and a five-seat layout. Fermín Soneira, CEO of the Audi–SAIC cooperation project, said: "The Audi E7X is the first SUV built on the ADP platform. It finds the perfect balance between Audi heritage and the future. It is a completely renewed product that exudes pure Audi character."
Powertrain: Standard 900V Architecture, 429 km Range Added in 10 Minutes

The E7X is equipped with an 900V high-voltage fast-charging platform as standard across all variants, adding up to 429 km of range with a 10-minute charge. Battery options include 100 kWh and 109 kWh ternary lithium packs, delivering CLTC range from 635 km to 751 km depending on variant. The rear-drive single-motor version produces 300 kW (408 hp) and 500 N·m of torque, while the dual-motor quattro all-wheel-drive version delivers 500 kW (680 hp) and 800 N·m, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds. The quattro system features 10-millisecond real-time power distribution, with torque response speed improved by 30%.
Chassis and Handling: All-Aluminum Suspension with Rear-Wheel Steering

The E7X features a front double-wishbone, rear multi-link suspension with an all-aluminum subframe. Standard bidirectional 14° rear-wheel steering significantly reduces the turning radius of this over-5-meter SUV, improving urban maneuverability. Excluding the base Pioneer variant, all other trims are equipped with Continental air suspension and ZF CDC continuously variable damping control. Top trims add Brembo high-performance calipers, 255 mm front and 285 mm rear Pirelli P Zero tires, progressive steering, and front/rear stabilizer bars. At the Shanghai Tianma Circuit, the E7X recorded a 1:14.230 SUV class lap time, outperforming the Tesla Model Y Performance (1:18.956).
Autonomous Driving: Momenta R7 RL World Model with L3 Readiness

The E7X features an Audi–Momenta co-developed LiDAR-based panoramic ADAS system powered by the Momenta R7 reinforcement learning world model, trained on over 10 billion kilometers of real-world driving data. Standard functions include highway pilot, urban follow, auto lane change, and advanced parking. The system also supports smart ETC lane navigation, three-point turns, narrow road passage, small animal emergency avoidance, mixed-traffic handling, and highway ramp merging. Crucially, the E7X will be Audi's first production model to feature L3 autonomous driving technology, also marking the global production debut of Momenta's L3 solution. For active safety, AEB response speed reaches 155 km/h, while a unique wheel protection feature automatically activates the 360° camera and highlights risk areas when a wheel approaches an obstacle within 20 cm.
Smart Cockpit: Audi Assistant 2.0 Powered by Doubao LLM
The E7X debuts the "Audi Smart Living Room" cockpit concept, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip and the AUDI OS, with 5G connectivity. The front cabin features a 59-inch ultra-wide panoramic display, while the rear adds a 21.4-inch QD Mini LED screen and a second-row control screen. The Flagship quattro variant achieves a 13-screen multi-display ecosystem. The Audi Assistant 2.0, powered by ByteDance's Doubao large language model, represents the industry's first hyper-realistic generative full-emotion voice system, capable of multi-intent recognition, cross-turn contextual understanding, dynamic intonation adjustment, and emotional response.
Luxury Cabin: Zero-Gravity Seats, BOSE Audio, OEKO-TEX Certification

Interior materials include OpenPore North American natural walnut wood, FeinNappa full-grain calf leather, and Articite microfiber suede. The cabin has achieved OEKO-TEX health certification. All seats feature ventilation, heating, and massage functions. The front passenger seat is a BOSE Performance zero-gravity seat with 139.1° recline, while second-row airline seats offer 130° recline, dual electric leg rests, and 6-way adjustable headrests. The Flagship quattro adds dual second-row zero-gravity seats with 18-way electric adjustment and 16-point zero-pressure massage. Audio is delivered via a BOSE Performance system with 9.1.4.4 spatial sound architecture.
Market Positioning: Accurate Targeting of the 300,000 RMB Segment
With an entry price of 289,800 RMB, the E7X directly targets the highly competitive 300,000 RMB mid-to-large SUV segment, where rivals include the Tesla Model Y, NIO ES6, Li Auto L7/L8, AITO M7, Xiaomi YU7, and Zeekr 8X. For eligible customers, the effective purchase price drops to 272,800 RMB, undercutting even the base AITO M7.
Outlook for Hong Kong Market
If the Audi E7X is officially imported into Hong Kong and qualifies for the "One-for-One Replacement" EV First Registration Tax scheme, its 751 km CLTC maximum range, 900V fast-charging, rear-wheel steering, and L3 autonomous driving readiness would pose significant competition to the Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV, BMW iX, and Tesla Model X Plaid. However, SAIC Audi has yet to announce any sales timeline, certification progress, or distributor plans for the Hong Kong market. First customer deliveries of the E7X are expected in the third quarter of 2026.
