BYD has launched the Han EV Flash Edition, available in two variants priced from RMB 179,800 to 187,800. The new model features the second‑generation Blade Battery and BYD’s flash charging technology, delivering “5 minutes to 70%, 9 minutes to 97% under normal conditions, and just 3 minutes longer at -30°C.”

Flash Charging: Game‑Changing Speed

With BYD‘s 800V platform and megawatt‑class flash charging, the Han EV can charge from 10% to 70% in 5 minutes and from 10% to 97% in 9 minutes at room temperature — on par with refuelling a petrol car. Even at -30°C, charging to 97% takes only about 12 minutes. BYD also offers a “burn‑one‑pay‑one” guarantee.

Exterior: Dragon Face Design

The Han EV retains the Dragon Face design with a closed grille, full‑width LED lights and a low drag coefficient of 0.22Cd. Dimensions: 4,995/1,910/1,495 mm, 2,920 mm wheelbase.

Interior & Intelligence

A 15.6‑inch rotating screen runs DiLink 5.0 with 5G, voice control and OTA. Premium leather seats (Nappa on higher trim) offer heating, ventilation and massage. A 12‑speaker Dynaudio system, ambient lighting and wireless charging are standard.

Powertrain & Range

Both variants are front‑motor, front‑wheel drive with 180 kW and 350 Nm. The entry version has a 75 kWh battery (650 km CLTC), while the higher‑spec version has 85 kWh (701 km CLTC). V2L discharge at 3.3 kW is supported.

Intelligent Driving

The Han EV Flash Edition comes standard with BYD‘s God’s Eye B ADAS, including adaptive cruise, lane centring, AEB and 540‑degree camera. The higher trim adds highway navigation assist.

The Han EV Flash Edition competes with the Tesla Model 3, Xpeng P7 and Zeekr 007. Its unmatched charging speed is a compelling advantage. For Hong Kong buyers, right‑hand drive availability is yet to be confirmed, but this model is well worth watching. Deliveries are expected to begin in mid‑May.
