Volkswagen ID. ERA 9X Launches at Limited-Time Price of RMB 299,800

At the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, SAIC Volkswagen’s all‑new ID. ERA series made its debut with the flagship 9X, a large six‑seat premium range‑extended SUV. Available in three all‑wheel‑drive trims—Pro, Max and Ultra—prices range from RMB 309,800 to 359,800, with a limited‑time offer of RMB 299,800 to 349,800 valid until May 31.

Backed by Volkswagen’s “New Commitment” strategy, the ID. ERA 9X combines German engineering with cutting‑edge Chinese smart technology. Featuring EA211 1.5T range extender, active rear‑wheel steering, Smart Surface Magic Screen, advanced driver assistance and a premium six‑seat layout, it competes head‑on with models like Li Auto L9 and Aito M9.

Dimension wise, the ID. ERA 9X measures 5,207mm long, 1,997mm wide and 1,810mm tall, with a 3,070mm wheelbase. It’s a 2+2+2 six‑seat layout with heated, ventilated and massaging second‑row seats, four power‑assisted doors and a 0.253 drag coefficient. The active rear‑wheel steering (up to ±7 degrees) cuts the turning circle to just 4.85 metres, making the large SUV as nimble as a compact car.

Power comes from a 1.5T range extender with VTG turbo and deep Miller cycle, achieving 43% thermal efficiency. Combined with dual electric motors delivering up to 380kW, 660Nm and 0‑100km/h in 5.6 seconds, fuel consumption is just 6.27L/100km when the battery is low. The Max and Ultra trims feature a 65.2kWh CATL battery offering 406km electric range and 1,651km combined range, with 800V fast charging taking 10%‑80% in about 16.5 minutes.

For driver assistance, the ID. ERA 9X is the first production car with the Momenta R7 world model. Backed by a 192‑line LiDAR and 26 sensors, it supports urban and highway NOA, park assist, and is capable of handling rare edge cases. The system is standard and comes with a lifetime free use license.

Orders for the ID. ERA 9X have been strong, surpassing 30,000 confirmed orders since pre‑sales. The model is attracting young, female and cross‑brand customers. Launch benefits include lifetime warranty for first owners, a free premium paint package worth RMB 8,000, trade‑in subsidies up to RMB 10,000, and extra RMB 5,000 for existing VW or Audi owners.
