At the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, Chinese off-road brand 212 unveiled its first off-road ecosystem series — METTA — along with two all-new models: the T01 METTA and T01 METTA Badain Jaran. Official guide prices are RMB 189,900 and RMB 219,900 respectively, marking the brand‘s evolution from “born for off-road” to “beyond off-road”.

METTA Ecosystem: From Vehicle to Lifestyle

China‘s hardcore off-road vehicle market has surged from 145,000 to 393,000 units over the past five years, representing over 170% growth. The METTA ecosystem expands beyond a single vehicle concept to deliver a comprehensive off-road lifestyle experience. 212 collaborates with partners across motorsports, tourism, and outdoor recreation to create a closed-loop ecosystem.

Within the ecosystem, “METTA Traveler” co-develops off-road routes with local tourism authorities, while “METTA Club” establishes campsites, cafes, and exhibition spaces. Dakar Rally champion Han Wei has also participated in developing the METTA Performance series.

T01 METTA: Balanced Off-Road Entry Point

Priced at RMB 189,900, the standard T01 METTA features a non-load-bearing body with solid front/rear axles, front/rear electronic differential locks, and a BorgWarner part‑time 4WD system. A 2.0T engine paired with a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission delivers 185kW and 410Nm of torque, with a 2.64‑fold torque multiplier in 4L mode.

The vehicle offers 10 driving modes plus crawl control and tank turn functions. A 540° camera with chassis transparency eliminates blind spots. Electric running boards, a heated steering wheel, and heated, ventilated, massaging front seats enhance comfort. Extensive testing has been conducted under extreme conditions.

T01 METTA Badain Jaran: Ultimate Upgrade

Priced at RMB 219,900, the Badain Jaran edition provides a 1.5‑inch factory lift, K-Man adjustable nitrogen shocks, 33-inch BFGoodrich KO3 tires, and a 910mm snorkel. A reinforced gear ratio, heavy-duty axle, mechanical rear ladder, roof wing, and unique window trim complete the extreme off-road package.
