BEIJING, CHINA – The 2026 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition witnessed a significant unveiling as the highly anticipated Shangjie Z7 series made its official market debut under the AITO brand umbrella, part of the Harmony Intelligent Driving Alliance (HIMA). The launch event, held on April 22nd, marked a bold entry into the premium electric vehicle segment, with the Shangjie Z7 sedan and its Z7T shooting brake (estate) variant priced from 219,800 to 309,800 yuan. This strategic positioning places the duo as formidable contenders against established players, leveraging the full technological might of Huawei's intelligent automotive solutions.

The core proposition of the Shangjie Z7 family lies in its deep integration of Huawei's latest and most advanced automotive platforms. Both models come standard with the Huawei Turing Platform, a comprehensive digital architecture for intelligent vehicles. More notably, they are among the first production cars to feature the cutting-edge Huawei Qiankun Advanced Driver-Assistance System (ADS), promising top-tier automated driving capabilities. Deliveries are scheduled to commence in late May 2026, with customers confirming their orders within 72 hours of the announcement granted priority in the delivery queue.

From a design perspective, the Shangjie Z7 breaks away from convention with a distinctive and artistic approach. The front fascia is characterized by a low-slung, 'sharp-nosed' profile that exudes a sense of dynamic forward motion. Its most striking feature is the 'Urban Streamlight' headlamp cluster, a design inspired by the flowing lights of a metropolis. Incorporating principles of Chinese artistic 'blank space' and diamond-cut precision, each unit houses 302 laser-emitting points within a segmented lens optical structure. This intricate setup creates a dazzling, starry-sky illumination effect with a perceptible 'breathing' quality when activated. Further emphasizing its intelligent nature, subtle blue indicator lights for the ADS system are integrated into the headlamps, side mirrors, and taillights. The front also features an active grille shutter, millimeter-wave radar, and an illuminated logo. Buyers can choose from a palette of sophisticated colors including Electro-Optic Purple-Pink, Amber Gold-Green, and Evening Mountain Fresh Green.

The sedan's silhouette is defined by a fluid fastback roofline that seamlessly merges into pronounced, ultra-wide rear shoulders, creating substantial visual tension and a powerful, planted stance. Details such as semi-flush door handles and a selection of alloy wheel designs, some paired with vibrant yellow or red brake calipers, accentuate its sporty character. The Shangjie Z7 measures 5036mm in length, 1976mm in width, and 1465mm in height, riding on a substantial 3000mm wheelbase that promises generous interior space.

The primary visual distinction between the standard Z7 sedan and the Z7T shooting brake variant is, unsurprisingly, their rear three-quarter profiles. The Z7T offers the enhanced practicality and stylistic flair of a long-roof design, catering to customers seeking utility without compromising on elegance. At the rear, both models share the mesmerizing 'Nebula Scroll' taillights. This lighting signature incorporates a 'crushed diamond' design element, with a total of 13,000 crystal-cut facets (amounting to 91,000 individual cut surfaces) arranged inside the lamps. When illuminated, they produce brilliant, multi-layered light trails reminiscent of celestial star tracks, ensuring the vehicle leaves a lasting impression day and night.

Stepping inside, the Shangjie Z7 introduces an innovative cabin concept centered on a 'Dynamic 4D Screen.' This central display is not static; it supports automatic rotation and smart welcoming gestures, orienting itself optimally for both driver and passenger. In a clever nod to contemporary youth culture and personalization, the front passenger area features a novel storage and display space specifically designed to securely hold favorite plush toys, figurines, or collectibles. This unique touch aims to forge a more emotional and personalized connection with the vehicle's interior.

Powertrain options cater to a range of performance needs. Both the Z7 and Z7T are available in single-motor rear-wheel-drive and dual-motor all-wheel-drive configurations. The single-motor variant delivers a robust 264 kW (approximately 354 horsepower), powered by either a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) or a Ternary Lithium battery pack, with a top speed of 220 km/h. The performance-oriented dual-motor version, dubbed the 'Ultra,' combines a 170 kW front motor with a 264 kW rear motor for a formidable combined output. Utilizing a Ternary Lithium battery, this variant pushes the top speed to 239 km/h for the Z7 and 242 km/h for the Z7T, underlining its grand touring capabilities.

The technological tour de force continues beneath the skin. Beyond the Huawei Turing Platform and Qiankun ADS, the Shangjie Z7 series benefits from the Huawei XMotion Intelligent Chassis and Body Control System. This integrated system is engineered to provide an unparalleled blend of ride comfort, handling precision, and stability by coordinating control over the suspension, brakes, steering, and powertrain in real-time. It represents a holistic approach to vehicle dynamics, aiming to deliver a driving experience that is both confident and refined across diverse road conditions.

The launch of the Shangjie Z7 and Z7T signifies a pivotal moment for the Harmony Intelligent Driving Alliance. It demonstrates a maturation from offering smart features to delivering a complete, deeply integrated, and desirable luxury EV product. By combining avant-garde, emotionally resonant design with the formidable, software-defined prowess of Huawei's automotive technology stack—spanning chassis, digital architecture, and autonomous driving—the Shangjie brand is not just launching new cars; it is staking a claim on the future of intelligent, premium mobility. The starting price of 219,800 yuan makes this technological package highly competitive, potentially disrupting the market dynamics as deliveries begin in the coming months. All eyes will now be on initial driving impressions and real-world performance of the Qiankun ADS as the Shangjie Z7 family hits the roads, marking another bold step in China's rapidly evolving electric vehicle landscape.
