Jin Yuzhi, CEO of Huawei Intelligent Automotive Solution BU, announced that Huawei Qiankun ADAS has surpassed 10 billion kilometres of cumulative assisted driving mileage in China. Meanwhile, the new ADS 4 version will begin rolling out soon.

10 Billion km: A Milestone for China‘s ADAS

10 billion km is equivalent to 250,000 laps around the Earth. This real-world data comes from millions of Qiankun-enabled vehicles across all driving conditions, proving that ADAS has moved from niche to mainstream.

ADS 4: Key Upgrades

ADS 4 brings improvements in perception, planning, and HMI. The 896‑line LiDAR better detects low obstacles. 4D mmWave radar enhances all‑weather performance. The algorithm behaves more naturally at complex intersections. The visualisation interface is more intuitive, building driver trust.

Technology Stack: Cloud + Vehicle + Road

Huawei‘s three‑layer architecture includes onboard MDC computing, Octopus cloud training (millions of simulated km daily), and roadside sensing units for V2X. Over 30 production models from Aito, Avatr, Arcfox, Deepal, and Yijing currently feature Qiankun ADAS.

Safety First: G‑AES & G‑AEB Enhanced

ADS 4 strengthens emergency steering and braking functions, smoothly avoiding stationary or irregular obstacles at high speed, reducing rear‑end collision risks.

Industry Impact

ADAS has become a top‑three purchase factor for Chinese car buyers. Huawei‘s HD‑map‑free solution and OTA evolution make it a key differentiator. By 2026, Qiankun ADAS will expand into RMB 150k‑segment models.

Conclusion

10 billion km is a milestone, not the finish line. ADS 4 further solidifies Huawei‘s leadership in China‘s intelligent driving space. For Hong Kong enthusiasts, the technology roadmap offers valuable insights. More feedback will follow after ADS 4 rolls out.
