Geely has officially opened pre-orders for the Xingyue L i-HEV and Xingrui i-HEV hybrid models. The Xingrui i-HEV (compact sedan) has a limited-time pre-sale price ranging from RMB 102,700 to 114,700, while the Xingyue L i-HEV (compact SUV) is priced from RMB 141,700 to 155,700. Geely announced that by 2026, all mainstream China Star products will be equipped with i-HEV technology.

Xingrui i-HEV: Compact Sedan Hybrid

The Xingrui i-HEV retains the petrol version’s design with a waterfall grille, LED headlights, and full-width taillights. Inside, it features a digital cluster and a floating touchscreen running Geely‘s Galaxy OS. Dimensions: 4,785/1,869/1,469 mm with a 2,800 mm wheelbase. The i-HEV system combines a 1.5TD engine (120 kW, 255 Nm) with a 100 kW/320 Nm electric motor and a 3-speed DHT. WLTC fuel consumption is 4.3 L/100 km, with 0-100 km/h in 7.5 seconds.

Xingyue L i-HEV: Large Five-Seat SUV Hybrid

The Xingyue L i-HEV features a larger waterfall grille, matrix LED headlights, hidden door handles, and a triple-screen interior (digital cluster, centre screen, passenger screen). Dimensions: 4,770/1,895/1,689 mm with a 2,845 mm wheelbase. The same i-HEV system is tuned for SUV weight, delivering 4.7 L/100 km WLTC fuel consumption and 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds.

i-HEV Technology: No Plug-in, Low Fuel Consumption

The 1.5TD engine achieves 43.32% thermal efficiency. The 3-speed DHT keeps the engine and motor in optimal operating ranges. A small 1.8 kWh battery is recharged via regeneration and the engine, requiring no external charging.

ADAS and Features

Both models come standard with L2 ADAS (adaptive cruise, lane centring, AEB, blind-spot monitoring). Higher trims add auto parking and 540° camera. The Galaxy OS supports 5G, voice control, OTA, and third-party apps.

Market Positioning

The Xingrui i-HEV competes with the BYD Qin Plus DM-i and Toyota Corolla Hybrid. The Xingyue L i-HEV rivals the BYD Song Pro DM-i and Honda CR-V Hybrid. Both models target users without dedicated charging infrastructure.

Conclusion

The i-HEV versions offer a hassle-free hybrid experience with fuel savings of over 30% compared to petrol models. For Hong Kong users frequently travelling to the mainland, these models are worth considering. More details will follow after the pre-sale launch.
