GAC Hyper S600 Unveils April 10: A New Contender for Hong Kong's Luxury EV Segment

On April 10, GAC Hyper will officially launch the S600, a large five-seat electric coupe SUV. Built on GAC's new high-end pure electric architecture, it measures 5,015mm in length, 1,933mm in width, and 1,700/1,685mm in height, with a 2,936mm wheelbase. It offers both pure electric and extended-range powertrains, with the BEV version delivering up to 800km range and the EREV offering 180km of pure electric range.

Design and Dimensions

The S600 features a sleek fastback coupe SUV silhouette with split-headlights. Its dimensions rival the BMW X6 and Mercedes GLE Coupe, offering generous five-seat space.

Powertrain and Range

The BEV version has a single rear motor (250kW) with 83.3kWh LFP or 99.5kWh ternary batteries, delivering 660km or 800km CLTC range. The EREV version uses a 1.5T engine (118kW) with a 36kWh LFP battery, offering 170-180km EV range and over 1,000km combined range.

Hong Kong Perspective

For Hong Kong users, the S600's 800km BEV range and 180km EREV range cater to both home charging and non-home charging owners. GAC has established a strong presence in Hong Kong, with nearly 2,000 sales in March 2026. An RHD version would compete with the BMW X6 (approx. HKD 900k) and Mercedes GLE Coupe (approx. HKD 800k) at a potentially more affordable price.
