如果你主要關心日常揸車夠唔夠安心，Sealion 6唔係得基本ABS咁簡單。高速行車有全速域ACC、車道置中、車道維持同盲點監察；遇到潛在碰撞，就有前方碰撞警示、後方碰撞警示及主動煞車幫手。
出入窄位亦照顧得幾周到，前2個、後4個超聲波雷達配合4個環景鏡頭，提供360度全景畫面；倒車車側警示可以留意橫向來車，開門碰撞警示就減低落車時撞到途人或單車嘅風險。
被動保護方面，前排正面及側面氣袋、側氣簾、前排中央氣袋、全車安全帶提示同兒童座椅接口都有配備。

The BYD Sealion 6 1.5L 80km Sport comes with a broad safety package. Its L2 driver-assistance system includes full-speed adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping and lane-centring assistance, blind-spot monitoring, road-sign recognition, forward and rear collision warnings, autonomous emergency braking, plus front cross-traffic warning and braking.
Parking support covers front and rear sensors, a 360-degree camera, rear cross-traffic alert and door-opening warning. Core vehicle safety systems include ABS, electronic brakeforce distribution, brake assist, traction control, electronic stability control, tyre-pressure monitoring and hill-start assist.
Cabin protection includes front airbags, front side airbags, side curtain airbags and a front-row centre airbag. It also has ISOFIX child-seat mounting points and seatbelt reminders for all seats.
