Thanks to its lightweight 1.7-tonne body, the JAECOO J5 is very brisk and responsive in the city, with smooth power delivery that feels quite close to a petrol car. It's stable in corners, but the factory-fitted Giti tyres have limited grip, and they can squeal under faster cornering. Tyre noise is also noticeable at higher speeds. Overall, the J5 is an easy-to-drive and unintimidating urban electric SUV.
