The MCXtrema features a straight-pipe exhaust system (no silencers), producing an extremely wild engine note. At idle, it has a deep NASCAR-like rumble, while under acceleration the sound becomes sharp and piercing – one reviewer described it as "a modern De Tomaso Pantera, ripping calico as you close in on 7,500rpm". Inside the cabin, you also hear the high-pitched whine of straight-cut gears, making the whole driving experience incredibly visceral.
