On August 26, Chery Fengyun T7 officially launched, offering three trims: 600km Joy Edition, Comfort Edition, and Smart Edition. The launch guide price ranges from 97,900 to 118,900 Yuan, with an early exchange price from 94,900 to 115,900 Yuan. Announced launch policies include a limited-time free exclusive paint color worth 6,000 Yuan, financing plans offering 2 years 0% interest for 60,000 or 5 years 100,000 3-year interest-free, and a 3,000 Yuan trade-in subsidy regardless of brand, among eight benefits.
At the launch event, musician Hacken Lee attended as the 'Happiness Experience Officer', exchanging views with Chery Auto Executive Vice President Li Xueyong on the topic of 'Steady Happiness', and jointly launched the Fengyun T7 'Happiness Co-creation Plan'. But setting aside the event atmosphere, focusing on the product itself, Fengyun T7 demonstrates a 'slow work yields fine results' R&D approach, contrasting with the current industry rhythm pursuing 'the faster the better'.
This vehicle's R&D cycle reached 3 years, relying on Chery's global 1+7+N R&D system, collaborated by over 100 designers from 10 global design centers, and aggregated deep co-creation from over 5,000 users. Its development standard directly benchmarks 2026 E-NCAP 5-star safety, which is even higher than current European market regulatory requirements. Before the launch, Fengyun T7's sibling model Lepas L6 was launched earlier in overseas markets such as South Africa and Thailand. Subsequently, Indonesia in August, EU in September, and Australia/New Zealand in October will also follow sequentially. This path of verifying diverse road conditions and regulations overseas before returning to the domestic market constitutes the 'global car' foundation.
In terms of safety, Fengyun T7's high-strength steel ratio reaches 80%, with hot-formed steel at 18.84%, adopting a 9-cross 5-long cage body structure. The unique Shotgun structure in its class, along with the debut dual-frame subframe and Pack anti-collision beam, provides extra protection for the passenger cabin and battery pack. Airbag configuration is the most in class with 9 units, including 48L dual-chamber far-end airbag and 1,778mm integrated side curtain airbag. Regarding battery safety, its Rhino battery adopts 6D armor 31-layer protection. Waterproof capability reaches IP68 level, 96 times the national standard, side anti-crush capability is 2 times the national standard, and it completed 1,008-hour salt spray test and 105-second fire test.
Range and energy consumption management are the technical focus of Fengyun T7. Full series standard 65.05kWh Rhino battery, CLTC range 600km, but reaches 681.6km in actual tests, showing 'reverse false labeling'. 30% to 80% fast charging time is 20 minutes, battery cycle life exceeds 2,500 times. Full series standard AGS intelligent intake grille, dual-source wide temperature range heat pump AC and high-voltage PTC, can operate within -30°C to 55°C ultra-wide temperature range. Range can increase by 15%-20% in -10°C environment. 12-in-1 Kunpeng electric drive integrated efficiency 90.8%, peak power 178kW, top speed 180km/h.
In terms of intelligent configuration, Fengyun T7 debuted 4nm process 8775 Cockpit-Driving Integrated chip in its class, with 72 TOPS NPU computing power, system response latency as low as 80ms. Based on this chip, Lingxi Smart Cockpit 2.0搭载s Doubao Large Model, supporting full-scenario fuzzy voice interaction. In terms of driving assistance, perception hardware composed of 3 mmWave radars, 7 cameras, and 12 ultrasonic radars supports automatic parking in over 300 scenarios, including remote parking, off-vehicle parking, and cross-floor parking, as well as 100-meter track reverse and highway pilot assist functions.
To verify overall vehicle durability and reliability, Chery simultaneously invested 81 durability test vehicles, cumulative vehicle test mileage exceeds 6 million kilometers, among them durability special test actual mileage 1.45 million kilometers. Verification covered European, AU/NZ, Middle East, South Africa, Brazil, etc., 100+ global extreme road conditions, and -40°C to 55°C extreme temperature ranges. For different markets, Fengyun T7 performed over 80 localized habit adaptations, such as adjusting steering force for Thailand's right-hand drive preference, using low-reflectivity materials for Australia/New Zealand and South Africa's strong light environments, setting 70cm auto-display front camera screen for European front-in parking habits, etc.
A handover ceremony was held synchronously at the launch event site, achieving delivery upon launch. Fengyun T7 at the 100k price range provides product quality based on global standard R&D and verification. Its core lies in prioritizing vehicle durability and safety in real complex environments.
