Chery Fengyun T7 Pre-sales Launch: Where Does the Confidence Behind the Long Wait Come From?

On August 12, Chery Fengyun's all-new pure electric SUV Fengyun T7 officially launched pre-sales. The pre-sale prices for the three models are: 600km Enjoy Version 109,900 CNY, 600km Comfort Version 119,900 CNY, and 600km Smart Version 129,900 CNY.

Interestingly, this car took a reverse route of "first overseas testing, then domestic launch" — the sibling model Lepas L6 has already launched in markets such as South Africa, Thailand, Indonesia, and also appeared at the Milan Design Week. Will this car suffer from culture shock when returning to the domestic market?

Exterior: Simple Electrified Design, Paint Standards Synchronized Overseas

The Fengyun T7 design follows a simple and durable line, featuring a closed front grille paired with slender "blade" headlights. Stereoscopic air ducts on both sides and the lower bumper sports trim outline the layers, while the "E-PERFORMANCE" logo in the center of the front lip highlights its electric identity.

The side profile lines are smooth, paired with black smoked wheel arches and a crossover lower bumper, with a coordinated overall proportion. The rear uses a skyline glow-through taillight, with diffuser-style trim decorating the lower bumper.

Six color options are provided: Blazing Orange, Mountain Smoke Purple, Cloud Pink Beige, Flowing Light Silver, Green Bamboo Grey, and Ink Stone Black. Among them, Blazing Orange uses a three-layer Tri-coat luxury car spraying process.

Vehicle Review: For ordinary people, the Fengyun T7 exterior is not outstanding, belonging to a more "generic look" type, but enduring looks sometimes attract middle-aged family users more than stunning appearances.

Power: Full Series 600km Range, 20-Minute Fast Charging Energy Refill

In terms of power, the Fengyun T7 three configurations are uniformly equipped with a 65.05kWh Rhino Lithium Iron Phosphate battery. CLTC pure electric range is all 600km, no "entry-level range halved, long-range extra money" tricks. Official tested range can reach over 667km. Daily city commuting calculated at 200km per week, one charge basically runs for two to three weeks.

The motor adopts a front-mounted single motor layout, max power 178kW, peak torque 275N·m, max speed 180km/h. In terms of energy replenishment efficiency, 30% to 80% charge fast charging takes only 20 minutes. Additionally, the new car is equipped with a dual-source wide-temperature-range heat pump air conditioner plus high-voltage PTC, working temperature range covers -30°C to 55°C, and AGS active front grille optimization for thermal control efficiency.

The chassis is a part where many 100,000-level pure electric SUVs tend to cut corners, but Fengyun T7 did this quite carefully. The official axle load ratio is 50.8:49.2, close to front-rear weight balance. Vehicle Review: For family SUVs, chassis texture is also one of the cores affecting ride experience. A near 50:50 weight ratio is rare at this price point, but to know the specific feel, it is best to experience it in person before making a conclusion.

Vehicle Dimensions: Compact Body, In-Cabin Space Utilization Exceeds 80%

Fengyun T7 body dimensions are 4570×1852×1694mm, wheelbase 2700mm, belonging to standard compact SUV volume. This size is very flexible for city commuting, squeezing into alleys, and parking in narrow spots, without the clumsiness of a big car. In-cabin space efficiency reached 84%, space utilization is considerable.

Rear legroom reaches 911mm, and it is a flat floor design, so foot experience for middle passengers is much better. In regular state, trunk capacity is 450 liters, putting in two carry-on suitcases plus a few backpacks is not a problem. After folding rear seats, it can form 1955mm flat space, capacity expands to 1550 liters. Details have pebble floating speakers and diamond quilted process decorations. Officially mentioned that all car leather, plastic parts, and seal strips have undergone high and low temperature limit tests, not easy to harden or whiten with long-term use.

Seats adopt 9-layer cloud feel structure, soft but not sagging, not easy to get tired from long sitting. High and medium configurations have seat heating and ventilation functions, heating supports 3-gear temperature control, -20°C environment 5 minutes can warm up to 30°C. Additionally, the trunk is equipped with 4 tie-down rings with max load 300 kg and 2 hooks with load 3 kg, convenient for fixing luggage and hanging soups and other easily spilled items.

Vehicle Review: Fengyun T7 interior takes a pragmatic home route, places hands can touch are basically soft-wrapped, the atmosphere when sitting in is very comfortable. Fengyun T7 smart cockpit is equipped with 4nm process 8775 Cockpit-Driving Integrated Chip, NPU computing power 72TOPS, system response time 80ms, boot speed improved by 33% compared to conventional solutions. The central control is a 15.6-inch 2.5K HD large screen, treated with anti-glare, anti-reflect, anti-fingerprint, supporting wireless CarPlay, HUAWEI HiCar, CarLink all brand phone interconnection.

The car machine is equipped with Lingxi Smart Cockpit 2.0 and Doubao Large Model, built-in 6 scenario modes such as Nap, Camping, Pet, Wake-up, and more, plus various anthropomorphic voice companions.

In terms of driving assistance, the Falcon 500 system is equipped with 3 mmWave radars, 7 high-performance cameras, 12 ultrasonic radars, total 22 sensors, supports automatic parking under 300+ scenarios, dead-end road parking, one-key tracking reverse, floor-crossing parking and other high-level functions are all equipped.

Vehicle Review: 4nm chip placed in a 120,000 CNY level model is indeed very sincere, and automatic parking is a real must-have configuration for newbies and female users, but in complex road conditions within the urban area, it is best to drive manually.

Fengyun T7 body uses a cage structure of 9 horizontal and 5 vertical, high strength steel accounts for 80%, among them hot-formed steel accounts for 18.84%, overall benchmarking 2026 version E-NCAP five-star safety standards and functional safety ASILD highest grade built.

In terms of passive safety, it is equipped with 9 airbags, including 48L double-chamber remote airbags and rear side airbags. On battery safety, Rhino battery adopts 6D Lock Armor protection structure, supports IP68 waterproof, passed collision, wading, thermal runaway and other multiple limit tests verification, total vehicle cumulative completion of 6 million km global road test accumulation.

Vehicle Review: 80% high strength steel plus 9 airbags, plus IP68 waterproof battery, plus global five-star standard development requirements, Fengyun T7's foundation is indeed very solid, and this car first landed in overseas markets, passed different road conditions and climate tests, but after entering the domestic market, it still needs to see with real-world assessment to know what the real strength of this car is.
