驅逐艦05制動時，車身重心會向前移，所以前輪通常承受較大制動負荷。前透氣碟內部有通風結構，可以更快帶走熱力，連續煞車或較長時間落斜時，較有利控制制動系統積熱。後實碟就提供後軸所需嘅輔助制動力，配合前輪維持制動平衡；由於後輪負荷通常較低，實心碟結構已可應付相應工作。電子手掣以電動機構取代傳統手掣拉桿，泊車後用嚟鎖定車輛，操作較簡潔，但正常行車減速仍然係由腳掣同四輪碟煞負責。
On the BYD Destroyer 05, the front ventilated discs are designed to cope with the heavier braking load at the front. Their internal air passages help release heat, reducing heat build-up during repeated or prolonged braking. The rear solid discs provide the supporting braking force needed to keep the car stable and balanced; they are simpler because the rear axle normally carries less braking load. The electronic parking brake replaces a mechanical handbrake lever and uses an electric actuator to secure the car when parked. It is mainly a parking function rather than the primary brake used to slow the car in normal driving.
