The Suzuki Swift's 48V mild hybrid system consists of an ISG (Integrated Starter Generator) and a small-capacity lithium battery. The system provides electric assistance during start-off and acceleration to reduce engine load, and recovers energy during braking to charge the battery. It cannot drive on electric power alone – its primary role is to assist the engine for smoother starts and reduce fuel consumption by approximately 5-10% in city traffic.
